Vehicle Detail

This is a great project car and 100% complete...except for one hubcap. 1960 Rambler American Deluxe 2 door that is a real barn find...check the last picture. Flathead 6 cyl. with three speed manual. The last inspection was in 1982 and it had a 1988 tag on it when found. The second owner got it in about 1983 with 28,000 miles showing and put 11,000 on it before parking it in the barn. The current reading is 39,249. It might be 139,249 but that's still really low for the age of this car. The first owner was a lady and I have the original owner's manual with her hand written scheduled maintenance...up to a point. Original American Motors keys plus another set. It has one medium repaint over the original light blue. The body is really straight with no accidents. I can't find one speck of bondo on the car. The rear floor boards are toast and need to be replaced. I found them online for $59 each. There is an aluminum panel over the front drivers floor board, so I assume it will need to be replaced. The pass. front floor board has some rust but can probably be patched. The front and rear humps between the floorpans are solid. The trunk has a couple of pinholes in it...not bad at all. There is a smaller sunken panel at the very rear of the trunk with a few more holes but it is flat and an easy fix. Original jack, spare wheel and tire iron present. Once the floors are fixed, this is a super easy project. The pass door has a shallow scratch/dent at the bottom above the rocker (see pic). Both rockers have no rust through - I sanded and primed the driver side and in the pic you can see a little rust in the driver door corner. Another pic shows a little at the trunk corner and another shows a little at the pass. front roof..just a couple of pinholes. That's not at all bad for an old body, but now for the REALLY good...the body is very straight. There is no rust through anywhere on the rain gutters. The trunk gutter is excellent with no rust. All four wheel well openings are in great shape with no rust and again, NO accidents and NO bondo. I put new taillight lenses on it. I painted the front wheels and put roller tires on and found 4 trim rings that fit nicely. The back 2 wheels are being sand blasted and I'll have them done and matching the fronts by the time the auction is over. All glass is in good condition with just a couple very shallow wiper scratches that will most likely polish out. I haven't tried the engine, but it's complete right down to the air cleaner. Interior is old and needs to be redone, but is all there down to the knobs. Steering wheel has no cracks. Radio delete car. The wing windows work fine. I haven't pulled the door panels off to WD40 the window gears to loosen them up, but they should all be fine. Rolls and steers fine so will be easy to load. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Please feel free to ask any questions or come by to see the car...or send a friend. High bidder to pay $500 non-refundable by paypal within 24 hours and the balance by one week - bank check, cash or m.o. Car will not be released until funds are clear. This car will be sold with a bill of sale. Age of car/Georgia...that's the way they do it. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! Brian 912 257 5333
