ford1979 store I have for sale a 1978 F-250 Ranger with the Camper Special package. I bought this truck as a project and have too many irons in the fire so it needs a new home. This truck is a factory dana 60 front axle truck. These trucks from the factory are 4.10 gear ratio but a previous owner had both differentials changed to 3.54 with a detroit locker in the rear. This was done professional by a reputable local shop, the reciept are in the glove box. Np 435 Transmission Np 205 transfer case. This truck does have the hydraulic system in place for a dump bed. It does work but, it has some broke welds and was done with too light of steel. It still has all the interior parts for the A/C in place but the compressor and everything else in the engine compartment is gone. It has a factory dual battery option. Also a very nice custom cloth front seat with center console and cup holders, the original rear seat is in great shape. It had house carpet in it when I bought it so it has a heavy duty vinyl floor mat included with it still in the box. Unfortunatly the 400 in it is bad. I repeat, it is bad. I started it long enough to get it on the trailer and it knocks. This didn't bother me becuase I going to do an engine swap any way but I must emphasize this truck is not driveable now. This truck is a rare and great foundation with lots of heavy duty factory goodies for some one to make a sweet ride.
