"ADVENTURE " IS A CAR CALLED "RIVIERA"!!! Buicks luxury sports car. the RIVIERA was first introducd in 1963 with great success!. Since there was no reason to fool around with a winner, the 1964 was bacically the same car but with some improvements. I.E. the 425cid motor became standard and the addition of the "super turbine 400 transmission the replaced the dynaflow . Other cosmedic changes were also added . Mostly interior. Here's the skinny on the car !. MECHANICAL_____________________________________________________- This 64 Riviera is equipped with the Buick wildcat 465 motor w/single 4brl carb. producing 340hp. It has the "super turbine 400 transmision" that that shifts smoothly and produces 43% more thrust than the the dynoflow that the 63 Riviera had and you can feel it. All the wiring under the hood has been replaced and the battery is new. An auxillary fan has been installed in front of the radiator and is thermstat controlled to add additional cooling if needed. I was told that the previous owner had the motor rebuilt but i have no proof. It certainly runs like that may be true. No smoke. No raps,taps or other unwanted sounds. Just the sound of the throaty dual mufflers that we all love to hear. The A/C blows ice cold!. New power brakes and effortless power steering adds to the pleasure of driving this car !. With a wheelbase of 117in. , a lenth of 208in and certainly not the lightest sports car, You will be very impressed with the way GM put comfort, style,& performance into the 64 Riviera. The exterior___________________________________________________ The body on this car is nice, clean, straight and as far as i can tell it is rust free. All seams on the doors, hood, & trunk line up nicely.There is a nice repaint in silver that compliments the car well. The wheels are from a 70 Riviera (i think) and they fit the body style perfectly !. The tires appear to be almost new. THE CHROME ! OH THAT CHROME ! The chrome on the exterior of this car is near perfect. I'd really like to say perfect but they say "nothing is perfect" so i'll say "near perfect". In fact ,all they bright work is just beautiful. Bumpers, handles,window molding, etc. Who ever re-chromed everthing on this car did a great job. The drivers side outside mirror has been replaced with an aftermarket one. All the exterior moldings are in great condition. THE INTERIOR_____________________________________________________________ The buick Riviera was known for it's beautiful interior. This was built as a luxury sports car and the interior certainly reflexs that feeling. The black bucket seats are done in a vinyl that looks & feels like leather. Both the front and back seats as well as the door panels are in great condition. The headliner and rugs are also in fine condition. Just as the exterior chrome is, the interior brightwork is equally beautiful. An oil presure gauge and water temperature gauge have been nicely incorporated into the woodwork on the console. Check out the full length armrests on the doors that can be opened from the back as well as the front. Just another luxury touch. The trunk compartment is also very clean. There is an aftermarket radio/cd player mounted in the glove box and speakers are mounted under the seats. OTHER STUFF____________________________________________________________________________________ This is a real nice car . Perhaps it's not a show stopper but certainly a very clean, excellent driver that you can take anywhere. Go to local car shows and criuse nights and pick up a trophy or take a long distance trip with the family. Either way, you will arrive in comfort & style and get home safe. If you are looking for a nice collector "luxury sports car" that won;t break the bank, this is one that you should consider strongly. Good luck with your bidding !
