Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1974 International Harvester that is in great condition. I hate to part with it because I know how hard it would be to ever find one in this good of condition again. I bought the Scout from the second owner and it has been babied its entire life. According to the previous owner it only has around 45,000 miles on it, but because the dash/instrument cluster has been upgraded I can not guareente this. It does drive like a low mileage vehicle and does not wander all over the road. I would not think twice about driving this Scout cross-country on a trip. The upgraded dash is made out of stainless steel and has Isspro guages installed in it, this replacement dash cost over $500. In 37 years the top has never been removed and you are looking at the original paint and panel decals. The paint is a little thin in a few places but is very presentable and the decals, as expected, after 37 years do have some cracks in them. I found the replacement decals for around $250 but never ordered them. As for the body, it is very solid with only a few spots of rust wich I have included pictures of in my gallery. The only body work that I could find is on the right rear where the spare tire carrier was located and over the right rear wheelwell. It was very common for the tire carrier to be removed because it was a bad design by IH. I also have the original line setting ticket that shows what options the Scout came with from the factory (ex. deluxe interior and exterior trim, factory undercoating, and heavy duty rear step bumper). The Scout has the original 304 V8 and the 727 torq-flight automatic transmission. The Scout has new dual dynomax exhaust that sounds great but is not too loud. It also came with 3.73 gears and disk brakes in the front. I installed the 2.5" lift and I have all the original springs and shocks if the buyer wants them. I also put the 33x10.50x15 BFG mud terrain tires on new Mickey Thompson wheels that have less than 2,000 miles on them. If you want to turn heads and get compliments everywhere you go then this Scout is for you. Or if you have ever owned a so called "restored" vehicle and later found out that someone had cut corners on the wiring, paint, bodywork, or whatever, then this Scout is for you. It is amazing to me how little has been altered on this vehicle in the past 37 years. I love to show this vehicle off so if anyone wants to come and drive the Scout you are welcome to. I live an hour Northeast of Memphis and can meet you most anytime just give me a call at 731-780- 4488.On Aug-29-11 at 08:04:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I just realized I did not get a picture of the front seat. It is the original material but the driver side is split on the side in the seam, I have tried to be as accurate as possible with the description but if anyone wants to see more pictures i will be glad to send you some. Thanks for looking.
