Vehicle Detail
This is for sale locally and I have a few offers just not where I need to be. I see Rovers in this condition all day on other sites at $9500 and with a painty job $12K all day. I went on a test ride with a guy tonight and I must say, I almost pulled my add. I hate to see her go, she is an amazing vehicle that you never see around. 1972 Land Rover Series III 88" with overdrive. If you have ever wanted a fun vehicle that gets attention, this is her. This Land Rover is in great shape. just rebuilt the carb, set the points and adjusted timing and she runs great. Changes all the fluids. Engine, Tranny, Transfer, Rear differential and Front differential. I would not hesitate to drive this Land Rover Cross Country. May be a rough Rover Ride but fun. Has the overdrive which if you know these amazing vehicles is a must. She will do 70 mph all day long. If your down hill with the wind, 80 mph. 4x4 works great as does everything. It has the 16 inch wheel upgrades and creates a little talller stance. The guy I got it from owned a trucking compaany and the color is the same of his company. Original color is Blue with white top and could easily be painted back to original if you wanted her to be all original. The only thing this beauty is missing is the headliner. Everything works and that is impressive for an almost 40 year old 4x4. Has the add on heater that runs from the radiator and it is mounted in the rear cargo area. I also have the Thule tall gutter racks and an original confer safari rack for the top from the late 1960s with the wood slats it looks awesome on there. Bottom line, it cost $2500 to ship one of these from the UK then 500-800 to get from the port to you. Then it is another $1500 for overdrive and $500 to install. Thats $5000 before even buyimng the Rover! So I am starting this at a very fair price with low reserve. You will simply no be disappointed. Warning, if you have never owned an old Rover, they ride rough, but that is what us Land Rover nuts love about them. I will miss her but time to retire and get debt free. Best of luck to you. Just added a few pics of the engine bay per ebayer request. Wanted to add that this Land Rover DOES NOT have the typical rust many 40 yr old Rovers might have and that is the bulk head and the frame. This Rover's frame is solid with normal surface rust found on most cars 5 years old in Wisconsin. Bulk Head is rust free.
