Vehicle Detail

1948 Ford F1 body on a 4x4 1975 Blazer Chassis/Running Gear. Body is mostly straight and mostly rust-free. There are a few cracks and dents and some surface rust in hard-to-find places. Previous owner did the body on frame swap in the late 80's. It has been daily driven 35 miles each way for the last 15 years. It is California licensed as a 1948 Ford F1. 4wd, front disc brakes, 1/2 ton running gear, manual lockable front hubs (Warn), Chevy 350 engine, TH350 transmission. Runs well and drives. The previous owner carried a can of grey primer and squirted it whenever he scratched it... that's why it has three shades of grey. I used it to take trash to the dump every week and to pick up lumber, haul firewood and get manure for the wife's garden. I just replaced all the glass (except the windshield) in the cab and the rubber in the windows. New rub strips and channels. I also purchased the cab weatherstripping kit, but have not put it in yet. I also replaced the headlights with the Halogen "Euro"-style kit from LMC... the light output is HUGE and BRIGHT compared to the 6-volt "stepdown" system. Known issues: Brake booster is weak, so the power brakes require a little more effort than your average Cadillac Escalade. Radiator neck at upper hose needs to be brazed, it leaks a little. No wipers. I have RainX'd the hell out of the windshield and I try not to drive it in the rain too much. Otherwise, it's a fine truck, works how it should, never overheats (if you keep the radiator topped off) and looks cool. The 4WD is functional and works perfectly... I get lots of looks and lots of attention with this truck. Compliments every time I stop anywhere. Sold as-is, where-is with no guarantees or warranties or promises. Buyer is responsible for arranging pickup/shipping/delivery etc. The only reason I am selling is that I need a crew-cab truck to take my son and wife with me when I go boating, and I would like to get something 3/4-ton and 2wd with a diesel like an F250 or Silverado. Good luck and happy bidding!
