Up for bid is a very nice Super Beetle convertible with 38,000 actual miles. This bug was sold and serviced since newat Countryside Volkswagen in St. Paul, Minnesota. This bug runs and drives great and can be driven anywhere. Wejust replaced the original tires with four new all-season radials. Both front tie rod ends needed replacement so we changedthose when we put on the new tires. The bug had also in the last two hundred miles new points, plugs, condenser and cap/rotor. The brake system has also been just completely redone at the V.W. dealer. This car is ready for someone to drive andenjoy. The quality of this bug is very good but it is not a concourse show quality beetle. There has been some paint workdone in the past. The radio is an after market Alpine with CD player and a very nice radio but we have not been able to getit to work yet. Our initial investigation revealed the radio was professionally installed and all the wiring looks good and intactbut we apparently do not have power to the radio. We have not yet determined where the installer went for a hot wire to theradio but we will investigate further. There is a top boot for the car and a car cover. The top boot is not original but theconvertible top is to the best of our knowledge. The are a couple of small areas where there is some minor surface rust. Weinspected the underside of the bug and could see that both rear seat pans had been replaced. It looks like a good job wasdone and the pans were painted and rust proofed. The master tech at Countryside said he has worked on the car for yearsdoing routine stuff and said the original owner was very intent on keeping the car up in tip top condition. He indicated to methat the car was not driven in the winter. He said most likely moisture was trapped between the rear mat and floor pan whichcaused the pan to rust. He also indicated that if one is caught in a brief rain shower with the top down enough moisture canbe trapped to rust a floor pan even in a otherwise rust free desert car. So, I want there to be NO SURPRISES for any buyer.I have often traveled to buy a car that was not honestly represented. I have every intention of making sure that whoever buysthis car is FULLY satisfied and feels they got their money's worth. I have taken several pictures of the pans and under side of the Bug.I must stress that photo's in general DO NOT always reveal every imperfection. The only way to be sure you know what your buying is tolook at the car in person. I realize that is not always possible so I've done my best to provide accurate information and full disclosure on the car. Again, as I stated in the original copy, this IS NOT a concourse show quality Bug. It is what I would call a very nicelow mileage, "have fun" driver. I get a lot of compliments where ever I go and I have really enjoyed driving it around. If you are wantingto win trophies at the V.W. nationals I suggest you not buy or bid on this car. I have priced the Bug taking into consideration that itis NOT a show quality car.
