This is a solid, restorable BMW that runs and drives. Rust-free Georgia car! I really like it so I may keep it if it doesn't sell. The engine is strong, but it needs a clutch and exhaust work to be daily driver. Right now, you can push the clutch all the way in, put it in gear, then start the engine and let out the clutch to go. Clutch does a little of its job but is definitely worn. May be possible to adjust it, not sure. There is no exhaust system after the manifold pipe, so it is loud. In my state, Georgia, this car does not require emissions due to age, so I thought about putting a pipe and muffler on. Other mechanical issues are - the a/c and heat components all seem to be present, but apparently there is some electrical problem that prevents them from working. Odometer/speedometer is not working The radio seems to be able to work but the security code to allow it to play is unknown. The power seats, power sunroof, and power windows all work except one rear window. All the glass is good but there is one small chip in the windshield. The body is all straight and workable except the hood, which has a few significant dents. In my opinion, it is borderline as to whether it would be better to buy a different used hood or try to work with this one. The driver's side rear door is missing the exterior part of the door handle, but it still opens by lifting the handle frame. The driver's seat needs to be re-upholstered. The paint is faded in several places. See the photos. The metal is all solid, there is no rust anywhere (including underneath) except the dent on the front of the hood. I need to move this car if I can get a good price for it, so it is being offered on a three-day auction. Terms are $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction close via PayPal.
