Vehicle Detail
1985 Maserati Biturbo Coupe - This car is a joy! It is so fast and handles so great I am utterly amazed! I can't believe I'm selling it. Any car lover would relish every moment with it, but the economy forces me to stick to business. My business is buying interesting local cars that come available in Atlanta and offering them to buyers nationwide. I am excited to bring you this all-original jewel, a life-long garage-kept Georgia car with almost no rust at all. It is not perfect, but to have not been restored it is unbelievable. Take a look at the many photos I took in this album. The body is straight, interior fabulous, glass all perfect, mechanically sound, runs and drives fine, and original Maserati accessories all there, except for a few of the trunk lid tools. Almost new Perelli P6s!. Original Maserati Rims! I was tempted to take this car apart and sell the parts. I believe I could make more. The windshield and rear window with defroster may have brought $2,000. The body parts could add up to $3,000. The dash leather and 90% of the interior could almost be sold as new, probably another thousand. That is before rebuilding and marketing the high-demand engine. But I am needing to get it gone and it is such a nice, working car. The reason I am starting with a low price is simply that it is not restored. The paint job on it now is unfortunately sub-standard. But of all things that are easy to fix, that almost makes it the perfect value. Just have a good shop sand and repaint and you have a serious Italian classic head-turner! Other negatives - missing the Maserati emblem in center of trunk; speedometer works but odometer does not (reported to have approximately 150k); A/C fan does not blow strong (although it seems pretty cool and compressor comes on and has been converted to 134a); driver's window needs a nudge to start the upward progress (then goes up fine, comes down fine); some of the lights don't come on at times (the brake lights and turn signals always work so drive anywhere in day time). The engine runs great, the turbo kicks in and propels the vehicle unbelievably fast. It idles fine, with that soothing Maserati hum. As with most of these cars, it takes some accelerator pumping and knowledge of how to use a choke to start it when cold, then starts quicker when warm. I have taken it on numerous local errands for several days where I parked several places for various lengths of time, and it has never had problems starting. Doesn't smoke out of the exhaust, except a trace of what is probably fuel when starting cold. About 5 percent of the time while driving, I detected a slight hesitation. Again, not bad for an old (and lets be honest "high maintenance") car. It doesn't have any noticeable leaks, my driveway has stayed perfectly clean under it. There is the slightest faint smell of oil burning occasionally, probably a small amount of oil getting to an exhaust manifold. I have noticed a few of the vacuum lines have been disconnected, possibly smog-related items bypassed. So that is all I know about the positive and negatives. I strive to be upfront about all of my sales because I need happy customers! Check my feedback! There are a few items that come with this car. An owners manual, a shop (repair) manual, and some old Maserati magazines. It has the jack, tire tool, spare, and a few of the trunk lid toolbox tools as mentioned. The Georgia title comes with it and is clear, no problems. No emissions test needed on this vehicle in Georgia. It does have a catalytic converter. Winning bidder must pay $500 deposit by PayPal within 24 hours of auction close, or it will be offered to the next bidder, or re-listed. Full payment by cash in person or PayPal within 3 days is also required. I will deliver the car by tow-dolly (towed from rear) for free within 100 miles. I can also take it to your carrier's Georgia location within 100 miles for free to save pickup cost if needed. Check uship.com if you are not familiar with having a vehicle shipped. Feel free to ask any questions, I will try to answer quickly and post for everyone if possible. Good Luck!!
