1987 Chevrolet K-5 Silverado 4X4 What a find for someone wanting a really clean K-5 Here is somewhat of a list describing this gem. Slight header leak Door locks stick sometimes (power) Starter gets hot from headers and drags sometimes, (really should have a high heat starter) Small surface rust 2 spots # 1- driver side rocker(the panel is rust free otherwise) # 2- under hood dime size i FOUND A 1" CRACK IN HOOD PAINT NEAR WINDSHIELD AND SMALL BUBBLE IN PAINT FRONT END. There are a few light dents that can be seen when looked at from an angle ds fender and both doors ( not bad) This truck has sat for about a year and a half with me starting and driving it on our private road. It does start, run and shift like it should. The 4 wheel drive and A/C work fine, but the truck needs a bath and a good home. Good luck and ask me anything you want to know about the truck. Note, as of today 8/20/2011 I noticed a little bit of soot on the driver side exhaust @ around 2500rpm, (no noise) and I was told probably plug fouling due to a lot of starts without full operating temp being reached. It hasn't been out on a real road in about a year, I just feal I had to mention this. I changed the above It don't need a windshield the crack is in the paint not the windshield, it was a missprint Thank you. I forgot to mention both door handles were replaced(new) both new door locks with oem keys (new) New interior light lenses new fuel pump 500 mi ago new coil ( Last month) All frontend bushings @ 1000 mi ago (when I started on it) both rocker pannels were replaced when painted (1.5 Years ago) New tranny mount 500 mi ago All The above go's with.On Aug-22-11 at 16:13:39 PDT, seller added the following information: The starter does start the truck just fine but with the long tube headers on the truck the starter is real close causing it to get hot thus draging it when restarting hot. Fix? I find that Jegs and summit have a high torque mini starter made just for this isue. Sorry I just had not noticed this as I usually only started it one time each time until lately. It is a 24 year old truck but it is a good one and I would drive it anywhere. The gas is over a year old but seems ok I would add good gas for a trip home. I know it is going cheap for the easy 15k I have in it. Good luck bidding its allmost over.
