1981 Fiat Limited Edition Spider 2000 #896 - ACTUAL VIN # 124CSO*00178862 This Fiat Limited Edition Spider 2000 denotes the 50th anniversary of Pininfarina, the coach builder. Only 1000 examples were produced by Pininfarina in 1981 to keep this sports car exclusivity. Each anniversary model was numbered and this is #896. A special plate on the dash and two outside in front of the rear wheel shows the individual number. This Spider has been stored in our temperature controlled warehouse for the past 15 years. Little or no rust, this car is complete and original with excellent chrome. Good title and keys. We repaired the obvious items and the car is offered with NEW: convertible top, vinyl upholstery and seat foam, carpet, tires, battery, gas tank, brakes and more. Freshly rebuilt engine includes all new bearings, piston rings, belts, oil seals and filters. Price includes (5) 14" alloy wheels, brown leather steering wheel (both special to The Anniversary Edition only), convertible top cover boot and power windows. The air conditioning is original but needs attention. This Fiat Spider doesn't like cold starts, but then warms up and runs. Our guess is it needs a cold start valve. The car's paint is rough. The paint is cracking, shows discoloration, dull color, and generally needs new outside paint. See photo of hood. We saved this special car from the crusher years ago.
