Vehicle Detail
1979 Pro Street Chevrolet C-10 This is a very nice 1979 Checrolet C-10 Silverado Short wide bed pick-up that I have owned for about 6 years.. The truck has been built in the old school Pro Street style and it is tricked out with some of the best parts available. The back half of the frame has been step notched for rear end clearance. It has a narrowed Ford 9 inch rear end that was installed with a fully adjustable 3 link suspension and adjustable coil over shocks. The rear end has 28 spline hardened axles and a Ford WAR third member flimited with 4.10 gears on a Ford limited slip carrier The suspension on this truck works great, it really loads the rear end and plants those big tires but it rides great on the road. The rear tire and wheel combination consists of 15x14 Weld Wheel Pro Star wheels fitted with 32x18.50x15 Hoosier Pro Street radials. The tires are in excellent condition too... The motor is a 358 small block. The bottom end has flat top pistons, a steel crank, reworked stock rods with ARP bolts and a 600 lift Howards solid roller cam. It is topped off with 64cc Holley aluminum heads. an Accel DFI programmable fuel injection, MSD pro billet distributor, Accel 8.8 pro wires and a K&N air filter. The exhaust consists of ceramic coated headers and 3 inch pipes going into 40 series Flowmasters that are dumped at the rear of the muffler. The transmission is a TH 350 with a 3500 rpm stall convertor. There is no air conditioner compressor or hoses on the truck at this time but the condensor and evaporator are still there. I was planning on finishing the air conditioner in the future but i havent got to it yet. There is a good heavy radiator in the truck and it is equipped with a thermostatically controlled electric fan for cooling. The body of the truck is in excellent condition for its age. The truck was originally charcoal gray and it has been painted red. The paint job is showing a little age but it still shines great. Whoever painted it did a pretty good job on the color change and it wouldnt be much of a job to refinish the truck if someone wanted a show quality paint job. There are a couple of very small imperfections, there are 3 small dings and some little rust pimples on the very front of the hood. The inside of the bed looks awesome. the factory wheel wells have been widened by grafting on another set of factory wells, the floor mates up to the wheel wells and the cover for the step notch looks like came from the factory. The bed has a good bedliner sprayed in it too. There is a black vinyl tonneau cover that goes with the truck too. The cover attaches by sliding into an aluminum bracket on the front of the bed and it snaps onto the exterior of the bed slides. It also has 2 aluminum cross supports that fit into brackets on the bed rails, which support the cover and keep it from sagging in the middle. The interior of the truck is also in good condition. It is in the stock condition with the exception of an Autometer monster tach with a shift light and some billet accessories. The truck does not come with a radio or speakers. This is a great truck that could be a magazine truck with a little more time and effort. It turns heads everywhere it goes and you just dont see these things in this condition. There is no way that this truck could be built for the money that im selling it for. If you have any questions, just let me know.
