Vehicle Detail

The plan was to build an old timey hot rod like a young man would do 60 years ago...All fabrication, painting, upholstery and construction was completed in my garage/driveway..Started with a J.W. Garage chassis, boxed with buggy mount in rear for a 40 spring (new) connected to a John's Industries 9" Ford rear with 325 gears. Pete and Jakes ladder bars and conventional shocks mounted with old tyrod ends welded to the spring perches. All new brakes...Up front we have a Superbell axle, 4 " drop, Posie spring and original 37 Ford split wishbones with shocks hung on F1 mounts, shortened and bent. ..Steel grille shell and SS grille(painted)....Steel bucket headlights on model A headlight bar (cut and bent). F1 steering and F100 brakes, all new and rebuilt including new drums..The engine is a 1967 283 bored 60 over to bring it to 292ci, and this engine runs like a top...cool all day and never misses a beat..No leaks or concerns at all... Saginaw 4 speed with new clutch and pressure plate..NOTE...one issue is that from time to time the gears grind going onto reverse...To save the teeth, I got in the habit of simply turning the engine off, shifting into reverse and restarting the engine...Might be a syncro, I don't know... Clutch is hydraulic and brakes have residual valves installed.....New driveshaft, new tires....Dual exhaust..glass packs..sounds awesome!!!...Aluminum radiator...ORIGINAL 1953 Oldsmobile air cleaner...Signal-stat turn signals (rear only), and 1946 Nash tail lights..Body is an older Gibbons with added steel and steel louvers bonded to the deck lid. Battery in trunk which is hinged as a rumble seat but unfinished inside...New steel gas tank...1940 Ford rear view mirror...1937 Ford handle on deck lid...Paint is John Deere blitz black...synthetic enamel..and burnished through to the red undercoat to make it look old...Check out the custom exhaust in the rear..an original idea of mine...This car will be in Rod and Custom magazine..nov issue under "Readers Rods"...40 repro steering wheel and all orig Stewart Warner vintage gauges..all work including the speedo and tach (Sun)..Ignition, dimmer and light switch all hidden under the dash along with batt. disc switch....Vintage Hurst shifter......Sun tach and original 1940 Ford hub caps and trim rings...(front trim rings are repro) 16" rims in rear and 15" rims in front..new rims by Wheelsmith...This car is a really fun car to drive..it handles very well and gets a lot of thumbs up!! I am selling this car to finance the next project...running out of room..I have probably forgotten something but will add to the listing if need be...IMPORTANT...$500.00 deposit within 3 days..paypal OK...balance to be paid in full upon pickup...cash or certified check...Can ship..you make all the arrangements. I am flexible and will work with you......Any questions, George is at 631-813-7145..........CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY...AUCTION MAY END EARLY......I CAN'T SELL THIS CAR TO YOU IF YOU VOTED FOR OBAMA.....GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND VETERANS !!!!!!!!!!
