My son and I had to cruise over to the Lowe's to get a short list of supplies for the weekend "Honey-Do" list and as I dropped into first gear to edge into a parking space as far from the other cars as possible, I could see the other guys in the lot gravitating towards us. Their looks of envy spoke a million and made up for the space I had made in the garage to keep this baby warm and dry. Oh yes, this is one sweet truck. Jay Leno would want to bring her up to show quality if he saw this listing! A previous owner did a frame-off restoration that left this dark-green classic ready for everyday driving and even classic car competitions. Take a look the pictures of the undercarriage and bed for a good idea of how clean this sweet baby is ! ! ! As I said, beauty has been garaged and pampered in California -- keeping it far, far away from the ravages of east-coast weather and road salts. It is CLEAN! As a lover of the 5-window design, I can understand the lure of dropping a V-8 with a new drivetrain in one of these trucks. But that instantly destroys the true history and reality of driving a 40's or 50's Chevy truck. This truck gives you the full satisfaction of working that "three on the tree"/"straight six" drive-train combo that takes you back better than any time machine. I've driven it on the freeway for trips of 60 miles or so . . . but would rather see it trailered for trips outside of the local area. Freeway speeds are dang stressful in this truck. The vehicle is currently registered with the CA DMV. Deposit must be through Paypal - deposit and Cashier's Check for balance must clear before we can start working on delivery or title transfer.
