Vehicle Detail

I have owned this bike for about 8 years, and have put about 8000 miles on in that time. It is currently registered in Connecticut and is used weekly. I bought the bike because its' original paint was, and is, in exceptional condition- Not like a new or restored bike, but very nice. In the time I've owned this bike I have steadily done upgrades and addressed any deferred maintenance. At the time I bought the bike it was using oil, so the first Winter I overhauled the engine. Heads and cylinders went to Ed Korn, valves, guides and springs were replaced, the cylinders were bored to 1st oversize and new pistons and rings were fitted. At that time I also cleaned the slingers and replaced bearing and engine main seals. That was about 7,500 miles back and it has run like new ever since. About four years ago the transmission started making noise, so I had it overhauled with new bearings and seals. three years ago I decided to try a CZ electronic ignition/ alternator. This is an amazing upgrade- The timing is always spot on, the 12 volt headlight is bright enough to use at night, and I can run a heated jacket liner if I want, so those Fall rides are a lot more comfortable. I also rebuilt the wheels with new rims and ss spokes, and put on a stainless steel exhaust. The bike comes with its' original tool kit and owners manual. It also has a genuine Albert handlebar mirror, almost unobtainium... I have bar end signal lights for this bike which I will reinstall if the buyer so desires. Engine, frame and headstock numbers match. I will assist in shipping to the extent of delivering the bike to a commercial location for pick up by Federal or other shippers- Overseas shipping will be for the buyer to arrange. Best, of course is local pickup with cash. A deposit of $500 is required by Paypal at auction's end. I also have other BMW project bikes for sale, e-mail for list. I want to be clear that this bike is a USER- It can go 100 MPH, and is happy to cruise at 80 all day long. It starts easily and does everything correctly. I am confident that it is ready to give another 45 years of good service with only routine maintenance. It comes with a correct Denfield seat and Denfield "breadloaf" pillion. I don't think this bike could be duplicated for anything like my reserve price. I am selling this because I have three /2 bikes now, and that is too many. Bike comes with a current CT registration- Connecticut does not issue titles for antique vehicles.
