Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1980 CB750K motorcycle. This bike runs great and is ready to ride. It has very good Bridgestone Spitfire tires with about 1000 miles on them so far. The stock coils were cracked and it started misfiring in the rain so I installed a performance dyna 2000 ignition and coils along with new spark plugs and wires. I replaced and adjusted the clutch plates. I adjusted all the valve clearances in the cylinder head to .005" Bike has new X-ring chain and new sprockets on it. The seat was reuphosltered with an original style stiching. Bike starts a little hard when it sits all winter but starts great all summer long. I removed the engine oil pan and cleaned the suction screen. Then resealed pan. There was very little debris on the screen. I installed a new shift shaft seal. I adjusted the rear brake shoes. It has a brand new set of Hondaline crash bars installed The paint is still shiny and it has a brand new NOS side cover on the left side. The right sidecover is from a different year and doesnt match completely. No fuel staining on the tank, The chrome has no rust or pits and shines great. It is not all scratched up. I rebuilt the front brake master cylinder with a kit and it works well. It needs fork seals. Also the front brake is hard at the lever because it has a dual caliper master cylinder installed but I never got around to installing the second front caliper after cleaning. On Jul-24-11 at 03:28:35 PDT, seller added the following information: The carburetors have been disassembled and cleaned ultrasonically and the fuel tank has been lined with a red coating. There is also an inline fuel filter to keep the carbs from getting dirty. I synced the carbs to the engine vacuum for each cylinder It needs fork seals. I disassembled the forks and cleaned, painted and resealed but honestly I think I installed the seals upside down somehow. That’s the only explanation I have as to why they still leak. Sometimes the starter clutch slips and it makes a ratchet sound but it starts fine all summer and only slips when the bike doesn’t start right away so I haven’t attempted to fix it. At certain RPMS there is some cam chain noise from the engine but it seems normal to some of the other bikes I have owned. Also it leaks about a nickel size drop of oil sometimes when it sits for a while, from where the ignition pickup wires exit the LH side cover, by the starter clutch. Could be fixed with a little Hondabond by removing the cover or just left alone. There is a small amount of rust on the rear shocks, but it looks like it would clean up ok. I have owned this bike since 2005 and I stripped it to the frame and cleaned everything. I sand blasted the frame and had a buddy powdercoat it. Its not perfect but looks good. This is all I can think of on the bike. Your welcome to message me if you want to meet up somewhere to look at the bike or have any other questions.
