Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is this 1967 Ford Mustang convertible with 148 k miles. This is an A code car, candy apple red with black interior and top. It has a power top with a zip up, soft rear window. This car has a 3 speed manual transmission, manual steering and non-power drum brakes. It has a standard 2.79 ration 8” rear. This car could best be described as a daily driver in great condition. It would be labeled as between a level 2 and 3 on a condition rating of 1-5. It is solid and straight. The paint is excellent except for one rust bubble the size of a quarter. Mechanically, everything works and it could be driven anywhere. I’d be willing to share a 2010 appraisal with interested bidders. Vin 7T03C275067 was produced at the Metuchen NJ plant on 6/29/67 with a “garage door” center console. It was sold at Wier Motors in Litchfield, CT 7/7/67. I purchased the car as the fourth known owner in 2000. It went through an extensive professional restoration and repaint over nine months in 2002-2003 by Bundy Motors in Tolland, CT. Major items replaced with after market parts were (14 k miles ago): Inner and outer fenders both sides, 3 torque boxes, a frame rail extension, all floor pans, trunk floor, hood, trunk lid, both bumpers and the convertible top. It was repainted in three coats of urethane (one color and two clear). It has been garaged or all weather coved ever since. The original 289 cu. in. 2V engine was replaced with a ’68 302 cu. in. engine that was rebuilt in 2000 and now has about 12 k miles on it. In 2006 that engine was professionally modified with an Eddlebrock 4V 650 cfm carb., Eddlebrock intake manifold, Crane cam, Patriot exhaust headers and Flowmaster dual exhaust. I have before and after dyno tests showing that the output went from 118 hp to 185 hp at the wheels. The front seats have been reupholstered. The original AM radio has been converted to AM/FM stereo. The wheels are American Racing 14” 5 spoke matte gray. The tires are Goodyear 215x14 with 14 k miles on them. The clutch was replaced and the transmission rebuilt in 2004. I have all receipts since 2000, a Marti report and much documentation, a shop manual, assembly manuals, wiring diagrams and much literature. The car comes with the original owners manual, buck tags, full hub caps and seat belts. This pony has been a real head turner and a fantastic way to relive my youth. I’m selling it now to be able to afford my next adventure, a ’64 Buick Riviera. The Mustang is located near Harford, CT and available for inspection any time before the close of bidding, not after. This auction is for serious bidders only who already have funds or financing available before they bid.
