Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1969 Plymouth Satellite (would also consider trading for a conversion van). The car runs, drives, brakes, and blinkers and lights function fine. I also have a clear title in hand for this. I've spent at least 7000 on this car and the parts are worth more than my asking price, since many of the parts are interchangeable with Road Runners, GTX, Super Bees, etc. I would part out the car to make more, but I think the car is worth keeping together (as fast as these 4 door plymouths are being dismantled for Road Runners and GTX's, they'll be more rare at some point than non 4 door satellites). This is a pretty fast car, but does still need some work to be perfect. The car is not inspected, but wouldn't take much to get it inspected. The registration also recently ran out. Update: I've listed this before, locally and on ebay, so if this doesn't sell soon, I'll part it out for twice what I'm currently asking (600 to 800 for fenders and 300 to 500 dollars for 3.55 differential alone. There's another 5000 dollars worth of parts (new alternator, battery, power steering pump, exhaust, headers, dash cap, antenna, aluminum drive shaft, and used cragar centerline wheels, pillars, 360 engine, 727 transmission, 2 hoods, and many other parts). I've already reduced the price over 1000 from my intial asking price, which is the lowest I'll go for the whole car. Here's a couple of URL's to video's of the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBD3JxlR3GE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4AHPV17nvc More Pics and another video are on this URL: http://www.recalltoyota.com/Plymouth Engine compartment: The Good: I've swapped the original 318 motor with a rebuilt 360 cui bored over 30 (new motor mounts were installed at the time). It has 340 heads that were milled for higher compression. .484 lift cam installed. It has a new 90 amp chrome alternator, high rise edelbrock manifold, and edelbrock 650 carb. Edelbrock valvecovers and edelbrock breather are installed. It also has 1.6 adjustable rocker arms with comp cam push rods. This was also converted to electronic ignition and a new wire harness was installed. A new power steering pump and brackets installed. Aluminum crank pulley and water pump pulley installed. Approximately 3000 miles on rebuilt engine. The Bad: I recently hear a tapping sound from the upper passengers side of the engine (last couple of weeks). The tapping is an upper end issue. It's either a flattened lifter or the adjustable rockers need to be adjusted (either that or a small exhaust leak). The car has not lost any power since this happened. I've never raced this car, so it hasn't been abused. It's probably due to not driving as much as it should. If it's a flattened lifter, it might be corrected with rislone and driving around for a month of consistent driving. It also could us a performance tuning for increased HP, but drives fine now and it's pretty fast. Engine paint is peeling (not cured). Exhaust: Shorty Heddman Headers. Custom 3 inch exhaust professionally installed. Has X pipe. Also has dumps. Rectangled chrome exhaust tips. I forget what mufflers were installed. I think they are Flowmaster, but not sure. Sounds very good and when the dumps are removed you can hear it a mile away. Transmission: The 727 trans was also rebuilt before I bought it and a 2800 stall converter was installed. Shifts fine/ Brand new cooler lines were also installed. It also has a B&M ratchet shifter installed. A 3.55 8 3/4 differential was also installed. The driveshaft was replaced for a lighter jegs aluminum drive shaft. Exterior: To lighten the car, the front and rear bumpers were replaced with fiberglass bumpers (I still have the original rear bumber, but the front one is gone). The wheels look like Cragar Centerline Wheels (skinies on front). The wheels are not perfect. They need some polishing, and the centercaps have some dings. The tires, while they have good tread and hold air, should eventually be replaced due to sidewall rot, but could be driven on for a short trip. There is an original mopar antenna that comes with this, but it's not currently installed. The drivers door and fender were replaced due to a minor wreck prior to me owning the car. The damaged was just to the door and fender, and not to any other part on the car. Most of the body other work is done. There are a few spots that still need very minor work to be perfect (probably three dime size dings). The car was recently primered grey. It still needs to be block sanded, and then painted (I have two gallons of new plum crazy purple paint if you want that). The glass on the car is in good condition. Interior: The interior needs a little work, but it's not bad. The dash and cluster look very nice. I removed the headliner since it was ripped, and I couldn't find a headliner for a 4 door. So, I painted the interior of the roof black about 3 years ago, which doesn't look bad. The original radio and controls are there, but there is no A/C with this car, and the radio doesn't work. I installed a nice new black dashcap over the existing cracked dashcap. The carpet was replaced a few years ago, but it's fading a little bit. The seats need to be recovered or replaced. The front bench has a cheap seat cover on it. I was planning to install bucket seats. A new Grant steering wheel was installed. The horn currently doesn't work. Extra parts: 1 spare hood in very good condition, 3 spare doors with good glass (rear drivers door and two passenger doors), 2 spare 2.76 differentials, Original drive shaftOriginal Rear Bumper, Original engine harness, Original points distributor, Spare engine fan, Original pulleys, Emblems. Thanks for looking, and as always, no reserve. Feel free to ask questions.
