We acquired this outstanding French automobile at an state auction of a deceased dentist who was a friend of our family. He had no relatives and he left his entire estate to the Southern Baptist Board. At the auction the car wasn't bringing what my wife and I thought it should, so we brought it home. The dentist purchased the car new and it stayed in his garage for 31 years. We really couldn't afford to keep the car because of our family situation. However my wife really loved the dentist who owned it and has an emotional tie to this vehicle. In other words we are no going to accept a low bid. This is all original 1979 Peugeot 504 saloon sedan is equipped with the famous 2.3L diesel and a smooth shifting ZF3 three speed automatic transmission. The car also features power brakes, power steering, air conditioning, power front window, manual sunroof, and the factory AM FM stereo. Included with the car are the owner's manual and the original shop manual in a four inch binder that have hundreds of pictures. The original Michelin spare is still holding air under the car and the jack and hand crank are in a nice leather bag in the trunk. Also in the trunk is the original weather front piece pushes into the grill to block air flow during extremely cold temperature. In addition we have some original Peugeot touch up paint and original registration proving the car was with one owner until a few months ago. The car runs and drives superbly and has been fully serviced the past month. I will not hesitate to drive it anywhere. This vehicle is very tight. Handles extremely well and rides like an American car. The German transmission is silky smooth. The diesel starts easily after waiting for the pre heating light to go off. We have started the car at 20 degrees Fahrenheit with no problem. A close look at the passenger seat shows light hazing and some age. Also the car is 99% rust free Tennessee car. The negative aspects of the vehicle are very few. The drivers seat has a rip in the right side that could easily be repaired. (see picture) The drivers door has been painted at some point and in slightly faded condition when viewed at certain angles. The re paint is fairly obvious.
