Vehicle Detail
1967 Firebird Sprint Convertible 4 speed 6 cylinder overhead cam engine four barrel split exhaust manifold. Very rare car only about 551 were produced with the convertible and four speed with the Sprint package VIN 223677U607770. The first two numbers 22 tell you the GM line and series number or the fact it is a firebird the next two tells you the model 67 tells you it is a convertible the next 7 tells you it’s model year 1967 the U tells it was made in Lordstown Ohio the next 6 tells you it was a 6 cylinder. In 1967 the engines do not match the VIN look it up all I can tell you that everything I have researched tells me this is a original Sprint convertible with the original engine. The engine codes are as follows 9787437E33 on the side of the block by the distributor hole and on the top of the block by the head is ZD664585. On the transmission the following numbers can be found 3885010. I am more than willing to hear from one of you experts out there as I will post both the VIN and the Engine codes and all feedback received. Professionally rebuild engine and head with new bore .030 over pistons, rods bearings reworked crank valves valve guides by Smyth Automotive Machine Shop in Milford Ohio. The frame was removed and the frame was completely restored with rusted metal removed and new steel professionally welded and rust coated with POR15 on the whole underside after all the replacements were made. The floors, inner rear fenders, rear quarters and trunk replaced Shock towers are good doors are good all glass is there and good condition. Car is 98% complete all parts and fasteners are there in plastic bags with identified where they belong. The hood is good shape the front fenders will need some metal work most all emblems are there. The front end was completely replaced down to the ball joins springs and tie rod ends and rubber bushings. Both bumpers are there along with most all the Stainless Steel trim pieces and the original Hurst chrome shift handle. Car is completely stock and no performance parts were added. Project has been occupying my time for 7 years and I have run out of time money and interest most of the hard work has been done and mostly need to be reassembled. Have the chrome air cleaner and most of the other hard to find parts like the split manifold. Convertible top frame is complete and ready to be recovered car came with power steering and front disk brakes. Rear end has not been touched but does roll very freely. I do not have a title but will provide a bill of sale once complete the car can be inspected and a title obtained. Car will be sold as is, no reserve auction to the highest bidder can be picked up on the east side of Cincinnati don’t miss this rare opportunity to capture some American Muscle Car History. Please feel free to ask questions or request some additional pictures – thanks! On Jul-07-11 at 14:19:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello, I just received the build sheet from PHS as recommended by a smart E-bayer and I am glad I did the Engine is the original engine and the transmission is a 3 speed not a 4 speed. Getting old and my memory is not what it once was but I do have the original build sheet and will include it with the sale. If the high bidder wants to retract their bid I will allow without any feedback. Thanks and don't miss out on this original classic!
