Vehicle Detail
I have a 1973 Austin Mini for sale. The vehicle is not in running condition and the buyer will have to arrange for pick-up because it will need to be towed. The car ran about 8 years ago when I parked it. I took the carburetor off to clean it and the brass clip holding the accelerator pump spring in place broke and I never fixed it. The carb is still in pieces in a bag. The body is in pretty decent shape but it does look like there is some rust on the drivers side floor board. This car is definitely a project car and will need some tlc. I bought this car from a guy who brought it over from england. It is 4 speed right hand drive. It does have a Pennsylvania F title which indicates foreign but I did have it registered and drove it on the road. I am not sure of the current milage because it did have some engine work done to it and I don't believe that the odometer is correct. It has a couple boxes of misc parts that come with it. As for the condition of the car I would say fair to poor. It does not run like I stated above. The passenger side door only opens from the inside. I know when it was running some of the extra gauges didn't work but the main ones like the speedometer did. The car appears to be repainted. It looks like the original color was an ugly purple. The transmisson seemed good and shifted well and when it ran the engine seemed ok but after 8 years im not sure anymore. It does have dents and dings and a small spot of rust on the roof. All the glass is good but the right rear turn signal cover is broken. Below is a list of the performance upgrades done that the previous owner gave to me. I can't say whether or not the list is 100% accurate or not but I have not added or taken anything from the car. Block stroked and bored to 1430cc, tuftrided and nitrided crank, 286 kent rally cam, lightened followers, stage 3 race head 37.5 and 35 valves, Dual valve springs, high capacity oil pump, cooper s radiator, cooper s fan, oil cooler, central oil pickup pipe, silver seal gearbox, final drive crown wheel and pinion ratio 2.95:1, janspeed lcb exhaust, janspeed inlet manifold, 45 dcoe weber carb, k&n filter, duplex vernier adjustable timing chain, 6x10 revolution rims, lowered 2 in. in the rear and 1 in. in the front, spax gas shocks, deseamed body with group 4 flared arches and austin 1100 sills, cobra seats When it ran it was a really fun car to drive. I had plans to redo the whole car but never got around to it and I just don't have the time or money anymore. If you have any other questions please ask. Like I stated above the buyer will have to arrange for pickup and the car is sold as is. On Jul-06-11 at 10:18:11 PDT, seller added the following information: *** UPDATE*** I recently had a guy come and look at the car and noticed that the vin plate being so old is no longer legible. I am currently having a new vin plate made but it will take up to 4 weeks to recieve it. I don't know whether or not this will be a factor in transfering the title. The buyer may have to wait until the vin plate is recieved before we can do the title transfer.
