Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice example of a 1960 Triumph TR3A. Speedwell has just completed a comprehensive "Road-readiness" inspection on her and she passed with flying colors. You could drive this car home, no need for a trailer. I am selling this car for a client who has a small collection of vintage European automobiles and has encountered circumstances that require him to sell a few of his treasures. I take my relationship with the Ebay community very seriously (note feedback rating) and will not be ending this auction early for anyone so please do not ask. Recent work includes: A complete new Black interior with White piping, including new leather seats by 2tall Custom Interiors, new Black carpeting, new interior panels and professionally reupholstered cockpit trim. The dashboard is the original black vinyl (has not been recovered) and is in very nice condition. The glovebox is new as is the lock. The SU carburetors are brand new, sourced from Moss. The front suspension has been completely rebuilt, all parts bead blasted and hand painted with POR15.NEW Vredstein 165/HR15 Sprint radials with new tubes and a front end alignment. The brakes have been completely rebuilt including the calipers and hoses. The emergency brake works very well. The wheel bearings have been cleaned, inspected and repacked. The radiator has been removed, rodded out, flow tested and pressure checked and reinstalled. All the hoses are in great condition. All rubber fuel lines are fresh. The engine fires right off and runs very smoothly. It is very obvious that this car has been maintained for regular driving. Acceleration is brisk without a hint of hesitation or bother. She does not smoke at all. There are no unusual noises from the drivetrain, the gearbox is the 4-synchro Overdive type and the electric Overdrive engages flawlessly. All the gauges and lights work (though the fuel gauge is not original). The turn signals operate properly and the wipers work as well. The horn even works. The car idles well and does not overheat. There is an auxillary manually switched electric cooling fan (in addition to the mechanical fan) for use during lengthy idling periods when the weather is extra hot. Oil pressure warm, at idle is above 50 PSI and higher at speed (see picture). Compression on all four cylinders measures within 5 PSI of 185. The top has not been on this car in 15 years as she has lived in enclosed surroundings and driven only on nice days, which are plentiful here in Georgia! She does come with a nice tan top, stowable bows and side curtains with their brackets though they are not installed. The top is like new and the side curtains are very nice except one of the plexiglass windows needs repair (see pictures). The British Racing Green metallic paint is in very good condition and she presents very well. This car is driven regularly in good weather and well cared for. There is no rust, ANYWHERE. ALL the chrome is excellent. I have supersized the pictures so you can inspect everything as closely as possible. Local inspections are more than welcome; simply send an email to me with your contact information to set up an appointment. This car has no heater installed though one does come with the car (removed in the interest of successfully reducing the heat in the cockpit). A picture of it is available on request. The fresh air vent does not work either (I believe it just needs the cable hooked up). These things have not been addressed as the temperatures here in Georgia do not require heating during the driving season and the top has been down for the past 15 years :-) If anyone would like to see any SPECIFIC pictures of the car please email a request for what you want to see. If you are an overseas buyer, please read the following: I have an agent in the UK who can make arrangements to ship anywhere in the world. His name is Terry Pittaway with Phoenix Cargo and his email is terry.pittaway@phoenix-cargo.com He will be glad to provide a shipping quote. I recommend shipping in a container rather than Roll-on, Roll-off service. With a container, the car is much better protected and you can ship anything you want with the car. With RORO you can only ship the car with no contents and the car is exposed to the sea air. You are welcome to use your own agent if you wish. You will find me very communicative and forthcoming with documentation and information. I can arrange for the car to be delivered by insured trailer to Port Charleston in South Carolina or Port Savannah in Georgia for an additional $500. over the purchase price. Though there is no current title for this car (cars over 13 years old are not issued titles in Georgia), I can provide Bills of sale tracing ownership back to 1985. Included in this paperwork is the last title issued on the car back in 1985 and a current Georgia registration. Along with this information I can provide a letter from the State of Georgia explaining that no titles are issued in this state for cars over 13 years old. I have successfully shipped cars to points all over Europe with this type of documentation and can provide references upon request. Also, for you stateside bidders, this information is typically sufficient in states that "require" a title. Do check with your local licensing bureau to be sure in your area. I can be emailed directly at speedwellcars@gmail.com If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email. Thank you for looking at this very special car.
