This BMW is being relisted due to a buyer/bidder not coming through on their bid/deposit/payment. They have been reported to ebay and we have lowered our reserve from the previous amount of $2300 to $2000. The vehicle brought $2475 previously but was not finalized. Rally Vintage 14” Wheels ABSOLUTELY ZERO RUST PLEASE READ THROUGH ALL PRINT: The Story: Same lady owner since 1989, purchased from Burdick BMW in Syracuse, NY. Stored routinely winters, never driven in snow. Body is immaculate, undercarriage, all seems and painted surfaces show absolutely no sign of damaging rust. Service records supplied from 1987 to 2011 (will list in detail further down). Recently took this E30 in on a trade-in for its 19 year old younger twin (2005 325Ci with same colors/options). The Good: Immaculate body rated 9.5/10 for minor scratches from age, interior is a 7/10….drivers seat shows bolster and base wear from 25 years of use, dash has a carpet cover from Bavarian Autosport on it currently but does show sun damage and some cracking from age. Rubber is new and wrapped around a set of vintage O.Z. Rally wheels. You just can’t find a shell this clean! The Bad: Passenger side power window does not operate, we found in the notes on a previous service receipt that it would need a new window regulator motor to work properly. MOTOR….This car runs and drives down the road but at a very tired pace. We do not know the exact reasoning behind this issue, acts and feels as if there is very little compression or a head gasket issue, Would recommend replacing or rebuilding this drive train. The previous owner did drive the vehicle approximately 2 hours to our business to trade the vehicle, and we have road tested and driven it approximately 40 miles total. It will go down the road….However we would not recommend continuing to drive it daily in its current condition. Electronic glitches….the OBC Check Panel does not illuminate, Radio is not hooked up (believe the P.O. had an aftermarket deck in and did not take the time to correctly replace it with the OE before trading), Tachometer has stopped working (this being said the mileage is EXEMPT ) HOWEVER, after reading through previous NYS inspection slips and service records we believe the story of the previous owner that the tach just recently stopped working and mileage is within 1,000 of its shown state. I put a number on this vehicle as a trade figure over the phone and was not told of any mechanical issues in its running and driving performance, the previous owner showed up to trade and we took the vehicle for a short drive to discover that the motor was very tired and not performing as it should. As far as previous experience has shown me, it is very hard to find a clean shell like this out of these cars. Especially with this history. Perfect candidate for the common M50 swap or a quick motor rebuild to get this car back on the road, also a great base for a committed track car. PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is being sold AS-IS to ONLY OUT OF NEW YORK STATE CUSTOMERS. Due to legality issues of NYS dealer laws of inspection and sale we can not legally sell this vehicle as-is to a NYS retail customer. It was just recently inspected and the sticker is current but I am not certain whether she had this car inspected with these running issues and if it would pass in its current mechanical condition.
