Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful Camaro with only 17,312 original miles. This is a matching numbers California car with the original tires. Yes still has the original tires and they still hold air. This was my father-in-laws car that he bought new in 1970. This car has always been garaged and covered and started once a month. Car was brought to Missouri from California in 2008 after my father-in-law passed away. The last time this car was registered and driven was in 1999 and it was only driven about 10 miles that year. Car does start and run but needs a tune up, carb needs to be cleaned out. I drove it around the block about 3 weeks ago. Needs a little TLC but is in overall great shape for a 41 year old car, still has that new car smell. Original paint, chrome, interior, tires, engine, etc. Has original 250 H.P. 350 engine with automatic transmission. NADA price on this car is around $18,000 to $19,000. Had a collector look at it and he said that the paint was in pretty good shape, he said that he would just buff it out. Same guy was also surprised that it had the original tires. Has the original metal protecto plate (warranty plate) with my father-in-laws name on it. Original owners manual in glove box with the protecto plate. There is a build sheet under the driver seat. Based on the VIN this car was built in Van Nuys, CA. Needs new heater core, it started leaking back in the early 90's so my father-in-law bypassed it. AC needs to be changed over to 134-A system and probably needs new seals. Still has the original AM radio, does not turn on, maybe just a wire. Also the gas gauge does not work, I think the sending unit in the tank needs to be replaced because it will fluctuate if there is enough gas in the tank. There is a spot in the finder above the left front tire that needs to be repaired. My father-in-law dropped something on it about 20 years ago and put a small hole in the fender. After he passed away one of his friends filled it in with bondo, minor repair. Other than that the body is straight. Small surface rust spot right above the exhaust at the rear end and one next to one of the trunk hinges.
