Vehicle Detail

For bid is a 2001 4WD Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab SR5 TRD. I purchased this truck 5 years ago from the original owner. During that time it has been driven by my son. He is a whitewater kayaker and used the truck to transport kayaks and going to school and work. Now he needs a vehicle with more passenger carrying capability so the Tacoma has to go. I considered keeping it for myself because it is so nice to drive and having a truck can be handy but I also need the passenger space. Options and Features - SR5 and TRD trim packages - 3.4 liter 5VZ-FE V6 engine - Four wheel drive - 5-speed manual transmission - Power steering - Power brakes - Power windows - Power locks - Power side rear view mirrors - Cruise control - Air conditioning - Gray fabric upholstery - Alpine tuner/cd/mp3 head unit with iPod connection (stock tuner/cd also included) - Alpine speakers - Sliding rear cab window - Tilt steering wheel - Skyjacker 3" lift/leveling kit - 31x10.50r15LT Firestone Destination A/Ts tires (one year old) - Steel wheels from Wheeler's Off-Road, Inc. (black) - KC Hilites SlimLite Long Range Lights - Leer model 122 truck cap with roof cargo rack - Toyota bed liner - Tinted side and rear windows - All-weather rubber front floor mats This truck is in GREAT condition! I can't stand for things to be wrong with a vehicle and have kept it well maintained. Everything works. It is VERY TIGHT with no squeaks or rattles. There are no leaks and the engine uses/burns no oil. Last summer we discovered a broken rear leaf spring. I did some research and found that Toyota had had an issue with leaf springs breaking but no recall. I didn't want to replace just the one broken leaf spring and Toyota wanted $1000 for two new leaf springs so we chose to have a Skyjacker 3" lift/leveling kit installed. The kit included two (2) new rear leaf springs, two (2) new rear shocks, and two (2) new front struts. I felt the Skyjacker parts were probably as good or better than stock especially since Toyota had problems with their springs. After the kit was installed an alignment was done and the tires rotated. When that work was being done it was noticed that one of the rear axle seals was leaking so new seals and bearings were installed as well as new brake shoes (both sides). Regular maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, tire rotations, alignments, etc. has been done. I have the CarFax. The report says that there was an "accident reported involving left rear impact". This occurred before I owned the truck. I see no evidence of previous damage. Any repair work that was done was done well. I have clear title. Since the Tacoma is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction. You will be impressed with the durability and ruggedness this truck. After all IT'S A TOYOTA!!
