Up for auction a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Special Edition 5.9 Liter V8 4x4. This is the 1998 4x4 Of The Year, features the massive 5.9 liter Magnum V8 only available in 1998, and was limited to less than 15000 produced. This was also the quickest SUV that year. This stunning vehicle is running smooth and has only 144xxx miles on it. It has ALL of the bells & whistles PLUS more only available on the Limited listed below. As it is a 13-year-old, it does have some minor issues: Minor parking lot door dings but NO accidents or dents. The hood louvers (only available on the Limited) paint is fading, but the overall paintjob is still nice & glossy. The tires are getting close to bald and will need to be replaced SOON. The original Infinity CD Stereo gets no AM/FM reception (antenna cable disconnected?), the front speakers have no sound, but the CD player works great. The driver seat has a split seam but no excessive wear. There is a dash display that shows (among other things) if any of the light bulbs are out and it indicates a bad taillight bulb BUT that bulb IS working, pictured. The drivers side rear view mirror is faded to an amber color. The windshield is cracked but doesnt interfere with forward vision, pictured. The parking brake cable needs to be adjusted tighter. This Limited starts, runs, shifts & drives smooth. NO smoke. Deep, beautiful engine note when you rev it up. A/C is cold, heater is hot (not to mention those heated front seats!). On-demand four-wheel drive works. The sunroof was recently replaced and works. The remaining electronics have been tested and work fine: Electric windows, electric door locks, electric rearview mirrors, dash lights & indicators, overhead console display, front seats electric adjustments & memory, seats heat, interior lights, exterior lights. Auction includes the owners manual, 1 key only, and a clean Colorado Title. This was a 3rd vehicle for the previous owner and they were just not driving it enough to justify keeping it. The Grand Cherokee 5.9-Liter Limited was produced in limited numbers (less than 15k) only for the 1998 model year, having more luxury and performance than that of the regular Limited and sold under the trim 5.9 Limited. It was also marketed in Europe as the Grand Cherokee Limited LX. It housed a Magnum 5.9 L V8 engine with an output of 345 hp and 345 ft·lbf of torque, going from zero to 60 mph in only 5.3 seconds making it the quickest SUV available that year. The straight-line performance of the 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9 has been surpassed by Jeep only with the 2006 introduction of the 6.1 L SRT8 HEMI Grand Cherokee. The 1998 Grand Cherokee was said to be the best 4x4 that year, performing like a sports car with fast acceleration and its Quadrac Trac 4x4 system that gave it excellent handling. It was able to compete against many sporty-type sedans and some previous two-door muscle cars. Their rarity and performance make them highly sought after. The 5.9 Limited was available only in Deep Slate, Stone White, and Bright Platinum.
