Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a great 1967 4-Door Mercury Comet Capri with only 82,000 actual miles. It comes with a clear Title and original Owner's Manual. This car runs and drives. The brakes stop the car, but need some attention and it would need a tune-up and probably, the carburator cleaned. It has been sitting in a garage for 15 years. It was repainted about 20 years ago. The original color was light metallic blue. There is very little rust; it is about 95 % rust-free. I just drove it down the road at 55 MPH and it handled fine. All the glass, carpets and headliner are good. There may be a small rock chip in the windshield. The front seat cushion needs to be reupholstered and there are two small tears on the back seat cushion. The trunk is in real good shape. The 289 motor has about 130 lbs of compression on each cylinder. The transmission shifts perfectly. The tires are brand new...hardly any miles on them. The battery is also fairly new, as is the Muffler. It even has a Trailer Hitch and a set of "helper springs" for pulling an extra load. I looked under the car...where the undercoating is peeling, one can see the original shiny paint ! The floor pans all look to be solid with no major rust issues. It appears to be a very solid car. The dash and steering wheel look good and the radio works ! Door panels also look good. This is a car that, with very little money, could drive around town on cruise night or it could be a daily driver ! Turn signals and brake lights work. It has a few paint chips here and there, but it is 44 years old. All in all, it is a classy, attention-getter ! I purchased this car from a friend here in Minnesota. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction via Paypal. The balance of the selling fee will be due within 7 days via cash or Cashier's Check...no exceptions. NOTE: If you have less than 10 Feedbacks, do not bid unless you contact us first. This car has been sitting and should be serviced before a long distance drive. It should be trailered until the brakes are checked and it has had a tune-up. Pick-up date is negotiable; it can sit here for a few weeks, if necessary. This vehicle is also For Sale locally, so we reserve the right to end the auction early. Good luck and thank you for your interest !
