Vehicle Detail

Note: I say below that the generator works well. In reality, it has not been started since last fall, so its current condition is unknown. Wanted to update before anyone bids. Thanks. Ok, here's what's going on. My brother bought this bus in Maine a year ago and lived in it over the winter. He then drove it to a summer camp in Yosemite where it currently is. He is ready to part ways with it, and has asked me to list it for him. It has been converted to run on waste veggie oil. I has a 65 gallon veggie oil tank, 3 filters, veggie oil pump, an extra battery to run the pump, and heat the veggie oil. The system worked last year, although it did not produce as much power on the veggie oil as on the diesel. My brother does not know much about mechanics in general, nor this system, so when it gave him some trouble he gave up on it. He put diesel in it when he drove from Maine to CA, so the current functionality of the veggie conversion is unknown. It would probably require some tinkering to get it to work again. It has a newer cd player, and a couple of extra speakers that he estimates are about 8 X 10 inches that work well.It has 4 basically brand new rear tires that he purchased somewhere on his drive westward, so the have less than 5k on them and they cost him over $700.The front tires need to be aligned, and they are in really bad shape. They will have to be replaced very soon.It comes with a honda generator that works well , and connects to an A/C unit in the rear. My brother never tried to use the A/C so he does not know if it works or not. I would bid assuming the A/C does NOT work.A friend drove the roof of the bus into a parking garage. See photos. It has not rained since, so my brother does not know if it leaks, but it probably does, and would need to be fixed.I believe there is only one bus seat in the back. The futon can stay or go, your choice. The box with the painting on it was my brother's bed, which was built so that he could sleep in the bus without being noticed. All the other personal belongings will be cleaned out prior to pick up. The transmission has been giving him some issues. He had the filter and pan gasket replaced recently. He has noticed that the transmission seems to be slipping, and that it holds each gear too long and shifts very hard. It probably needs to be replaced very soon.It recently started idling too fast. He says he had to brake significantly harder when going down hills, because he felt like the engine was still pushing. Please ask any questions before bidding. You need to be someone who has the time and ability to tinker around on this machine to keep it running well. If you know nothing about working on vehicles, this would not be a good purchase unless you're ready to learn. We expect a $200 deposit via paypal within a week of auction close, and the rest in cash at pickup. We would like to have it picked up within two weeks but can be flexible as long as deposit has been made. If schedules permit, he should be able to meet you at the Hwy 41 entrance to the park. Otherwise, you can deduct the park entrance fee from the total price. The Bus will need to be picked up. He cannot deliver it to you, nor ship it anywhere. Please post or email any questions and I will call him and get the answer. Thanks.Talked to my brother recently and got more info. The switch for the tanks is electric, and two main filters are Parker Filtration model number 100fh. The third filter is a small one on the line to the engine. He didn't know brand it was. The battery heats both the tank and a coil prior to the veggie oil entering the engine. The GVWR of the bus is 10,000 lbs.
