Vehicle Detail
Looking for a cool old muscle car/truck that you can drive while putting on the finishing touches that will make it unique to your tastes! Well, you are in luck! Here is a solid vehicle for your father/son project and still be able to take it to cruise night or the home improvement store when needed! Check out this 1977 Ford Ranchero 500! As you can see, the reason I call it a project is because it does need paint and a little body work. It is covered in black primer, so it isn't terrible looking to cruise around the way it sits. It was originally painted silver. The driver side fender has a soccer ball sized dent in it, and there are a couple small dents in the tailgate. The chrome is still good, but a nice polish would really make it shine! The bed is pretty straight, but it does have some surface rust in it. I took some sand paper to it, and it came off quite easy. This Ranchero also has some nice looking alloy wheels with the rears being deep dish, so it has a nice look to it. The interior of the car is in great shape. The red split bench seat looks good, and it is very comfortable. The carpet is in great shape, as is the headliner and the door panels. No cracks in the dash pad, and all the instruments and electrical work as they should! The glass is also in good shape, but the air conditioner does not work. It does have the badging on the dash that reads Ranchero 500. Overall, I would give the interior a 8.5 out of 10! Powered by a 351M engine, this Ranchero has good power! The motor sounds good and does not have any hesitations. I just did the oil change less then 50 miles ago. It has a two-barrel carburetor, so if you don't always have your foot in it, it will get decent fuel economy. The three speed transmission shifts very nicely while putting power down to the rear wheels. It does leak some power steering fluid. The brakes are solid and they stop the Ranchero nicely. The Ranchero passed California smog less then 8 months ago, so if a California resident wins the auction, there should not be a problem for you smogging it. So there you have it. If you are looking for a good project car that can be driven without any worries, then look no further. But please remember, although this Ford is in ok shape both mechanically and cosmetically, it is a 34 year old car and is not Barrett-Jackson ready. The new owner will be very happy with his/her new car, and all bidders will be happy with the NO RESERVE auction! Please bid with confidence that this Ranchero is as described. Now for the boring, yet necessary part. This Ranchero is being sold as is/where is. If you want to fly in and drive it home, I can pick you up from the nearest airport (Ontario, Ca). If you want to have it transported, I will help out in organizing the pickup. Please do not bid on the car if you do not have the funds readily available. I reserve the right to end this auction early due to it being listed locally. The mileage may change slightly from test drives, etc. I will answer all questions as quickly as I can. Thanks, and good luck!
