1973 Datsun 240Z 96000 original miles. I purchased this vehicle in Pomona Ca. in 1980. I have owned this vehicle on and off for over 30 years. The other owners were my brother inlaw and high school friend. I brought the vehicle back to Michigan shortly after purchasing. Then I undercoated it with Texaco compound L and heated it up in a spray booth to make the undercoating flow and remove excess. This vehicle has never seen a winter and rarely even rain.The vehicle is in very good condition for its age. I added Weber DCOE 40 carburetors and a Cannon intake to solve the vapor lock problem that plagued the 1973 240Z. Also at that time I added a Monza header and exhaust system and Bielstein strut cartridges. The carbs have been rebuilt recently and the exhaust system has been replaced also with a similar system. Recent up grades include Petronix electronic ignition and Flame Thrower coil and new low pressure high volume fuel pump. Also new driveshaft and halfshaft u joints.The ignition switch was replaced so there are 2 keys for the car one for ignition 1, one for doors. Also the gas tank leaks only when filled to the top, possibly the fuel return hose.This vehicle can be driven any were. The car had been repainted when I originally bought it, since then the hood, liftgate and cowl have been painted. There is a rust hole in the right fender behind the wheel and a few rust spots on the car please see pictures. There is a small rust hole on each side of the floor pan.The rest of the car is very solid and rust free.Please note some of the brown spots and lines on the car are Dupont Extend rust stopper.There are a few dents and scars on the car please see pictures. There is a stone chip in the windshield on the driver side. The rear bumper will need to be straightened and rechromed as it was partially replated years ago. The interior is in good condition,the dash has one small split on top and the console is missing the ash tray knob and has a small crack at the rear of ash tray.The seats are in good condition but show some wear. The carpet is all dry rotted and needs replacing. There are holes cut in the quarter trim panels for speakers. The radio works marginally and the electric antenna has been replaced with a manual one. The car would be a great car for a complete restoration or just to drive as is for a while. This is a very solid 240Z. I was told it was probably the fuel return hose.
