Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is our little Rambler. As with most car folks, we've enjoyed this one for a while and now wish to have a go at something else, so we're making some room. This is a nice, clean little car that attracts lots of attention at shows and when cruising down the highway. I've even had people take video of me driving down the highway from their car in the lane beside me! We've driven it to local car shows and cruises and had lots of fun with it. The Good: Pretty clean little car with very good interior and the paint is pretty good at 10 feet. It runs and drives out nicely. New radiator installed last year and a tune-up two years ago. It is the 440H body style, made to simulate a convertible with the top up (see the body lines and contour of the top). It has the original "twin-stick" overdrive transmission and 138 hp 196 cu in six cylinder engine. Lights work, overdrive works, original radio still works (though it takes the tubes a little while to warm up). The interior is very nice, save a couple of spots in the driver's side carpet that are worn through and a few cracks in the dash pad. The Not-So-Good: Needs brakes done and will likely need new drums. The temperature and voltage indicators do not work. There are some small rust bubbles forming under the paint in a few places, but none of them appear to be terribly bad; not noticeable at 20 feet and could go many more years without any work, or could easily be repaired at minimal expense. As with any old car that hasn't been recently restored, there are some scratches, pits, and dings in the paint. The transmission works well but requires "double-clutching" to get into 3rd gear; a minor inconvenience, but doesn't prevent enjoyable driving. The carburetor could probably use a rebuild, as it requires a little priming after sitting for an extended period, but once you get some fuel flowing, it runs fine. Has never been a problem while on the road to shows or cruises. The passenger side front seat has a seam pulled apart in the seat cushion. It needs a new cross-brace installed as the old one was damaged when we bought the car. We never noticed it until recently. We purchased a replacement from APD and it is included with the car along with new mounting hardware (see picture). Just to be clear, the mileage is just what's on the odometer...it doesn't mean its recently been restored or anything. Obviously, the odometer has turned over. Personal inspections are welcome, just send us a message to schedule a time in the evenings or on the weekend. Car is sold as-is, where-is with no warranty of any kind. We will not be responsible for shipping, but will be available to help with loading for shipment if required. We would not recommend driving the car home as the brakes do need some work as noted previously.
