Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1973 Chevrolet Corvette. I got this car last summer as partial downpayment in a real-estate deal. I really wasn't looking for a vette and my wife was less than enthusiastic. I had the car worked on by a reputable mechanic who relaced all the hoses, belts, plugs and wires, points (yeah points!) and repaired the headlights. He said the brakes were new and he thought the clutch was recently replaced. He had the wipers working but said it needed a switch.(They have since quit working and I have seen a switch for about $30 on ebay.) I drove the car on the 175 mile trip home to my house with no problems. My intention became to keep the car for a couple of years then sell it. The car spent the winter in my garage (in my wife's car's spot - she wasn't amused). Reality is that I have no place to keep the Vette so my loss is someone else's gain! The car is in pretty good shape for a 1973. Although it doesn't look to have been restored at any point there has been some work done. The paint job looks to have been done several years ago and the car looks good and really gets attention. I have put almost 1000 miles on it and always get compliments for it's great looks. The last time I drove it the radiator sprang a leak. It is a small leak up high that only leaks after the engine is turned off and it is hot, I think the radiator can be repaired (looks to be original) but a new all aluminum radiator is less than $200. I also bought a stainless steel screw set to replaced all the interior screws but I have not gotten around to it so the screws will go with the car. There is a small crack in the windshield and a chip on the driver window from a wrong size screw in the door. There is also a small chip out of the driver's door and I think all these are visable in the pictures. The odometer is at 41,129 miles althought the title reads "over mechanical limits". The previous owner told me he thought maybe he made a mistake when he transfered the title after he had the car he believed the mileage was accurate. I'm not sure what it would take to get that corrected or if that is even possible. So let's just say the mileage is 141,129 as the title states. I don't know anything about matching numbers etc. but I was told the car had the original motor and transmission. If you want additional pictures or numbers off a certain part of the engine block etc. please ask the question. i can't answer any question you don't ask. The shift pattern is real tight like a corvette should be. I also have no key for the door locks, did not come with the car. Ok now for the disclaimer stuff, the car is being sold as is with no warranty either stated nor implied. The winner of the auction must make $200 non-refundable deposit through paypal within 48n hrs, the remainder of the sale price is to be paid when or before the car is picked up or shipped. Cash, cashier check or USPS money order is the accepted payment methods. I will assist in any shipping but again the full payment must be made before delivery. Again please ask all deal breaking questions before you bid. I don't usually post questions unless it is information I have left out of the description. Thank you for looking at my auction!
