This is a running, driving 65 Chevelle Convertible intact and with all the hard to find trim in place, a very complete car. Almost ever part it left the factory with is here and accounted for including it's original washer and antifreeze bottles. The only changes noted from factory seem to be the wheels, non-orginal valve covers, and the orange paint on the air cleaner. Doors, jams, trunk lip hood and fenders are very solid with no holes or soft spots. Solid un hit frame rails and floor pans. Good factory color combo (not green, or white, yahoo!!) and the factory V-8. With the exceptions shown in the pictures of the lower right rear quarter, and paint bubbling at the rear wheel lips on both sides, it has 2-3 rust spots the size of a half dollar in the tunk center section and neeed seam sealer. Normal seam cracking on the top dutchman panel near trunk edge with a pinky size rust hole at one of the factory seams. This is very solid platform to start a clean stock restoration from or a great resto-mod platform as I planned. Panel replacement: worst case scenario it will need 2 lower quarter halfs and a trunk center section. I feel that to be over kill for a good body man, but I would rather under sell since it does have some rust there and over deliver to you if it turns out easier. Only light surface rust on the exterior of the floorpans and frame rails but they are very solid with no holes or soft spots found from inside. With a light mechanical once over this car could be driven for a while as is if you like your drivers with cool rat rod/fade or real patina. The convertible top is rust free as are the conv. wells housings. There is a tear at the right top corner of the top fabric and the rear window has long since fallen in but this car has had a cover on it and has been in a covered garage stored for years with no water in it ever. The top frame moves freely up and down and is not bowed in the middle or bent. All the glass is in good shape and they roll up and down fair with no cracks or chips. The orginal dash paint is in good shape and complete, seats and most of the interior is original and usable with a good cleaning and driver seat bottom repair. I spun the tires on it this morning after moving it for the pictures. Starts right up idles well and runs cool, choke sticks a little, clears out and then runs ok around the lot. Motor sounds tight with no knocking or chatter. Factory manifolds and dual exhaust are to the back with no leaks . I feel I have let it sit for too long to be road worthy without some mechanical attention, (all fluids, brakes bleeding, etc. should be done) so don't plan to drive it home or more than 30 or so miles just to be safe. P/S works fine, trans shifts ok, brakes stop the car and it can be driven onto a trailer or shipper with no problem. Body tag is untouched and vin #'s are in place with original paint in door jams. Both rockers and the bottoms of both doors are solid. no factory A/C. The fourth factory wheel lip molding is in the trunk with some of the jack peices.
