Vehicle Detail

This 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue came from an estate. The Heir (owners daughter) can not locate a title, therefore the car will be sold with a Bill of Sale ONLY! A title is easy to obtain here in Alabama, and there are several places which specialize in title work. (will furnish name and location). This vehicle is very solid....very straight body with no rust underneath except the usual surface rust on spring hangers, etc...floor pans and all the underneath are in very good condition! Since this car has California emissions control, I assume that it was purchased there. All glass is solid, with no cracks or chips that I can find. The bright work is like new, as are both bumpers and the grill....The Leather seats are in excellent condition, as are the door panels and Dash Pad. The plush carpet is in very good condition with only a couple of small grime spots. The Paint on the exterior goes from Fair to Excellent, as it does have some thin spots. The factory wires are excellent, and there are four 90% tread Michelins ready to roll. I have just installed a NEW starter, NEW plug wires and NEW plugs. The car starts well after warm, but does need the Lean Burn system adjusted for better cold starts. Bad Part......The cloth headliner and the cloth on the door Jams is rotted and needs replacing. The Vinyl Roof is useable but needs to be replaced for show and restoring. I got a quote to replace the cloth headliner/door jams of $125.00/$150.00. This is a beautiful car for restoring or a driver......it is already considered a Milestone car by the auto collectors. Summation......No it is not a creampuff....No it is not a Junker.....YES, it is about as good one as you'll find to restore.....with minimal cost and effort. Payment must be made within 7 days after end of auction. Pickup and transportation is responsibility of Buyer. This car drives out very nicely...the trans shifts smoothly, and the rearend does not seem to have any slack. Power steering works fine.....The air will need some attention as it doesn't cool good. All window lifts work......it needs some TLC with regards to the radio....someone put a new radio in it, and either I don't know which buttons to push or it needs a fuse.....I can't get it to play. Picture #8 shows a small area under the chrome strip at the back window where some surface rust is forming....that's the only rust that I can find on the car. Be Sure to check the free report on this car.....it's clear of any wrecks, title problems, leins, etc. etc.......Thanks, Old Jim.
