Vehicle Detail

1979 Honda CB750F Super Sport CA Bike Original & Originally Sharp (See pictures and video below description) Up for bid is an exceptional example of vintage 1979 garage candy which is still guaranteed to blow your hair back, take your breath away and garner admiration wherever you ride it. This is not a restored or pieced together rebuild project, but the real deal, which was not even cleaned for the pictures and video which were taken in the last week. It is said that you are known by the company you keep, and there is certainly the element of pride in ownership which should be considered whenever contemplating the purchase of a used vehicle of any type. In this vein, pictures have been included of the setting in which this vehicle has been stored and displayed in over the past 17 years (I was the 2nd owner), and of one of its roommates ~ also a bad boy original 1970’s 150 MPH+ vehicle (1974 Porsche 911 Carrera). Both of these 1970’s high performance vehicles have been pampered, and to stick my chin out a bit, are of the nature I believe even a Jay Leno would appreciate. Ok the details are: Stock with exception of a K&N Filter, Jetting and a Gemini Corona, CA 4 into 1 pipe which makes it sound more like a finely tuned exotic sports car than a bike. Ride it in the first half of the RPM range and it is a dossal well mannered machine fully capable of legal speed limits anywhere, with power to spare. Hit the 2nd half of the RPM range, and you will have a smile pressed onto your face which is difficult to remove ~ it is hard to believe that it is the same bike. The sound in the 2nd half of the RPM range is the stuff that gives you goose bumps :>) Oh yes it also has a cool upgraded Hella German horn system (believe it needs a new relay as last time I pressed it failed to actuate (could just be a loose connection). The tires (Dunlop Elite) only have about 100 miles on them although they are well past the suggested useful age. The seat looks in new condition and the paint is generally superior although when draining the tank one year same had an unintended brush with a coarse surface on the top right edge (not dented but a ¼”wide rash which is hard to see and picture). Needs new reflector on right side of headlight (probably $5 or so) and the speedometer cable routing loop which attaches to the front bumper needs to be replaced (another less than $10 fix). I have cleaned the carbs out every couple of years and kept STA-BIL in the gas whenever stored wet for any period of time. Starts quick and no smoke. Brakes work (both front and rear), and pads appear to have lots of wear left although they are old. Battery is new this season. Headlight and taillight work and blinkers come on but don’t flash (believe it is a plug in flasher which controls it) Speedometer and tachometer work as does odometer, the trip meter shows approximately the actual miles I have personally put on the bike. The bike comes with the original toolkit and owner’s manual and I have also included 2 aftermarket shop manuals (all with no marks). So bottom-line, there is some small stuff to tinker on so you can say you did something, but basically you have an exceptionally clean and rust free (some minor surface rust on rear shocks ~ steel wool and polish and you are set) 32 year old screamer to tastefully adorn your garage and take you down the road in style and faster than you will probably ever want to go :>) Oh yes I tried to get pictures that will show the good and what little bad there is, so take a close look (again they were all taken in the past week or so including the video which shows the bike started and running), and enjoy. Clear title, 19772 miles, and currently licensed in California. See my other listings for more great items! Deposit of US $500.00 within 24 hours of auction close.
