1951 WILLYS JEEPSTER 6 CYLINDER OVERDRIVE- 6VOLT SYSTEM -COMPLETE (VIN# 63VJ11540) I had this Jeepster listed within the last two weeks and the high bidder could not come up with the money to pay for it and asked me to release him from the bid; which I did!! I made a second chance offer to the second bidder but after not getting itn the original bid "he told me he went in a different direction" (which is understandable) If you have been on Ebay for less than 1 year and/or do not have a rating of 10 or more, please email me before you bid! . THE PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITHOUT A FILTER BUT THE COLORS IN THE PHOTOS ARE MORE VIVID THAN IN REAL LIFE. Older restoration (20+ years) and that age is starting to show. The body work and paint has held up well but it is not perfect and has some flaws. Can be driven as is or can be taken to the next level. After you go thru all of the systems to insure they are working and safe it could be driven as it is or it could be restored to a higher level. It is 99% complete, a solid body and chassis, and original Jeepster. The inline Kaiser/Jeep six with O.D. should make a great highway car. This Jeepster was restored by a Shriner who used it in parades. He died a few years ago and this Jeepster is being sold to settle his Wifes estate. It has a clear title and is titled to the son who is the administrator. He built a special small garage for it with a wooden floor so it has been stored in this dry atmosphere for years since it was restored and it has been started on occasion since his death. As a result there is not any major rust on the frame, gas tank, undercarriage, or exhaust system and I could not see any structural rust thru where the body is mounted to the frame. The floor boards appear to be solid and a small rust area on both the drivers and passenger side floorboard were repaired at some time in the past. There is some rust thru on the lower inner body panels on both sides but it appears there is lots of good solid sheet metal left in those areas to allow for a solid welded repair. It has the original type of Kaiser/Jeep flat head 6 cylinder engine with overdrive . (we can not assure that the engine was not changed out at some time in the past) . It starts and runs good with good oil pressure. According to his son he was almost sure his dad had rebuilt the engine when he restored it. It starts and runs with good oil pressure and all of the original 6 volt electrical seems to work including the new battery. It has a couple of minor oil leaks , and there is grease at the locations on the chassis that you would expect probably from setting for years and being 60 years old. I would replace the clutch and pressure plate to reduce the free play in the clutch to make it shift better. EVEN THOUGH IT STARTS AND RUNS OK WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING IT UNTIL THE ENTIRE RUNNING GEAR INCLUDING ENGINE, BRAKES, CLUTCH IS THOROUGHLY CHECKED OUT AND ANY DEFECTIVE PARTS ARE REPLACED. THE TIRES ARE 10-15 YEARS OLD AND ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS . IT HAS SET TOO LONG TO TAKE A CHANCE! THIS VEHICLE MUST BE HAULED AND NOT DRIVEN!
