1977 Maico AW400 Completely rebuilt motor by the late "Maico Moe" Maurice Griffin. All new gaskets, seals, bearings. Everything inspected and rebuilt/ replaced as necessary. New piston and bore w/ Tarabusi 78.5 piston. This is a ZERO TIME motor, never ridden. Has not had fluids in it since complete rebuild. It will need to be set up and broken in to your liking. Two front fins have small cracks, one left front has been ground down to conceal a broken fin and can be seen in pix if you look closely. I am including two more top ends (heads/barrels only) with the extra parts shown in pix. The frame and tank were blasted and professionally primed, color coated and clear coated. The bottom motor mounts on frame were notched to facilitate engine installation/removal, see pix. The tank has NO filler and is as straight as you will ever see. The Maico lettering was hand painted, and while not perfect I believe is bitchen'. Has not had fuel in it since repainted. There are some nicks and scratches in the paint from assembly, shop wear and being put on and off the stand. This bike has not been ridden since assembly, just parked next to the AW125 I sold last month. The rims are original Akront with correct date codes. Hubs are original and in nice shape as far as I can see. Tires hold air well but are old and need replaced. The fork skins are NOS. Fork seals new. Fenders and side panels NOS repop, show some shelf wear. Cawi gas cap NOS. Original stock kill button. NOS natural rubber hex grips. Splines on k/s, shift shaft and both kick and shift levers excellent condition. New airboot. New airfilter, never oiled. Airbox cut for up pipe and done well. Stock downpipe is low time take off and could almost pass for NOS save a few scratches in the paint! Too nice to ride with in my opinion. Seat pan, foam and cover excellent condition. Works Performance shocks have new eye bushings, newly powdercoated springs, nice shafts, bumpers and great action. Also included with the bike are spares as follows: 1front, 1rear Akront rim. Seat foam and mounting bracket. Original Falk front fender. NOS white repop front fender. NOS repop rear fender. 2 brake pedals. Brake cam. Brake arm. Front hub. Rear brake shoes. 2 rear sprockets, excellent cond. Rear brake plate. Original Falk side panels. 1 barrel and head date code 4/77 bore mics approx. 77mm. fins good. need hone or bore. 1 barrel with factory up pipe head date code 6/77 bore mics approx 78mm. fins good. need hone or bore. 2 comp release. 2 triple clamp assy. Chain tensioner. Front and rear brake stays. Rimlocks. Bar mounts. Clutch cover. Ignition cover. No title, bill of sale if buyer wishes. Please ask any and all questions before you bid.
