Vehicle Detail
Bought this car in 2007 and put many dollars in it to make it my daily driver the past two years. Was awesome on diesel (30mpg)... would make a solid candidate for veggie conversion. This car is 25 years old and only has been driven 121,000 miles (just over 4,800 miles per year average!). Like any 25 year old car there are issues. The main issue I believe may be an easy fix and has to do with one of the last things on my list to complete. Tha task is replacing the vacuum lines. I believe the vacuum lines power many of the systems from ignition to heat to door locks etc. The other issue is checking the power steering. The great thing about this vehicle is that I am selling it with another complete parts car. It is a 1981 300d with 200,000 miles on it. It ran when I first bought it and has been sitting in my barn for parts. Unfortunately I spent thousand in new parts at my mechanics because I did not have the time to part out the 81 and SAVE! The 2 best features of this car is the low mileage engine and an interior. I would conside the interior to be in "pristine" condition for a 25 year old car. These is some rust in that I live in Ohio, despite the fact I had it painted when I first aquired it. The mercedes 123 buyers are cultish and the engine and the interior will give you a good start if you plan on a dream restoration. Might think about getting a nice Texas chassis and going to town! Good luck bidding!!!! Read up on this model and the collectors and rally's celebrating the "engine" that can last a million miles. This engine may not even be broke in yet. Good luck bidding!!!!
