My reserve is only $1,200. That is about 1/4 of what I have into the car. Previous auctions a couple years ago would have yielded more. It will not take many parts to make it worth the $1,200. I may consider removing and shipping parts needed if someone buys the car and just wants certain parts. I got this 1976 Lotus Elite about 5 years ago. It had a clear Indiana title which has been misplaced. I donot know if I will be able to get a replacement - But I will guarantee that I own the car free and clear. When I got it the odometer showed about 27,000 miles on it. The seller assured me it was original and had documentation to support the claim. The interior was sun beaten and in need of replacement. It did run and drive. I am told that in this model the automatic was very rare and performed better than the standard. After I bought it someone broke the windshield and rear window. The windshield is available for $1100 and the back window being flat can be done by any glass shop. Rocks also left comparatively minor chips in the fibreglass. The car has a dual over head cam 4 cylinder. The body is fibreglass as is some of the frame. I tried selling the car other times and was asked about the frame. The underside metal and glass seem solid not rusted out and the glass is not soft to the touch. I had the car running as long as I pured gas down the carbs a couple years ago. A potential buyer wanted to hear it run with the carbs rebuilt. I had the carbs done and the buyer never returned so they have not even been put back. They are fresh and ready to go but I do not want to run it and let it sit until they need rebuilding again. I need to sell this to make room for other projects and will part out if necessary. The body is solid.The wheels are good. The car is for sale locally and the auction may be ended early if the price is met.
