Vehicle Detail

1969 Chevy Nova SS 396 L-78 4 Spd. Super SportWell I'm sure no expert on Nova Super Sports, but I got this car from a friend of mine who is 70 years old, and a very "in the know" lifetime hot-rodder. It is truly a "barn find", and needs to be restored back to its original state. (it would be a shame not to restore this car back to original). My friend has had it for over 25 years, and the last 10 years or so, it has just been stored. This car is a genuine 375 horsepower L-78 SS car (it came with solid lifters, alum. intake and Holly carburetor......unlike the 350 hp version). It has all of the following: Munci 4 speed, 12 bolt posi-trac rear end, factory 6,000 red line tach, power front disc brakes, multi-leaf rear springs, black high back bucket seats, three row radiator with rubber flap, big block heater, rally wheels, all factory SS badges and details ect. It has a #40 paint code which means it came" butternut yellow". It was built in Willow Run Michigan. There were just over 5,000 L-78 Novas built in 1969, and hot rod magazine claims that they ran mid 14's. The car currently has a 406 C.I. small block engine. This car was running and driving fine when last parked. The current engine was professionally built and has very low mileage on it. (it is a very potent motor). The rest of the car is pretty much just like it came. Here are the minuses as I see them.....the original 396 (375 H.P./L-78), has been swapped out. The car is no longer the original yellow. I do not have the original console, but the previous owner says that he thinks he has it, and will get it to me. (no promises, but if I get it, you get it). The car will need quarters, but the trunk and floors are very good. I have a clear and open Colorado title for this car. This car is 43 years old, and is being sold as-is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in any way. My opening bid is $4,500 with no reserve. Now.....all that having been said, I can't imagine finding a nicer, more restorable, and very unmolested 375 HP L-78, 4 speed car for the price. This car is just as I got it, and is pretty dirty. I only want the winning bidder to be as elated as I was when I first saw the car. Its not perfect but I honestly can not foresee any disappointments. I will try my best to answer any questions that you may have. This is a truly vintage muscle car if there ever was one. Thanks and good luck. Terms of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. If you have zero feedback, contact me before you bid or your bid will be canceled, and you will be blocked from further bidding as well.
