Vehicle Detail
OK, as I stated in my previous auction if the car did not sell I would attempt to get it running. I took it down to my mechanic and he has determined that the motor is locked up. I have no desire to get into a complete restoration so I have dropped the starting bid to $9,999 and no reserve. The high bid gets the car. This car has a lot of potential and is 100% complete. This is a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville 2 door hardtop. I bought a collection of 5 - 1958 Bonneville hardtops in July 2010. This is the last one that I have for sale. I am keeping 1 and have sold 3. This car was bought on January 20, 1979 in Thousand Oaks, California by the previous owner and was put into dry storage until I bought it last July. It is Starmist Silver with Patina Ivory spear and top with the 2 tone gray interior. It is equipped with 4 barrel/automatic, Power Steering, Brakes, Antenna, Wonderbar Radio and Spinner wheel covers. It is all original including paint and interior. It still has the original sparkle carpet. It is very solid including floors and trunk. To my knowledge it is 100% complete. To those of you who know these cars know that is extremely important. Parts for these cars are hard to find and are very expensive. The stainless is very nice and I attribue that to the car having been off the road for at least 32 years. It does need a total restoration. I have not tried to start the car but was told that it was running in 2002. The previous owner passed away in 2004. It is still on a California title from 2 owners back who titled it in 1970. I am selling the car as it is because I can sell it cheaper. I think most people prefer to do their own work on a restoration project. If it does not sell then I will attempt to get it running, etc. I encourage anyone who is interestd in it to come inspect the car in person. If you fly, you would fly into Houston Hobby Airport. I will be glad to pick you up and return you to the airport. I live 35 miles south of the airport in La Marque, Texas. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist in anyway that I can. I could personally deliver the car for $1.50 per loaded mile. I would like a $2,000 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction end and the balance within 5 working days. The car will not be relased until payment in full has been received. If you would like to discuss the car with me, my name is Joe Evans and I can be reached at 409-938-0780 (home) or 409-771-4239 (cell).
