This heavily optioned 1966 Thunderbird project is for sale - as is - or restored to your wishes for a greater amount. The car has the optional sporty Landau top, with is not only a padded roof with Landau bars. Like some of the sports cars the only side windows are the door windows.The car is loaded, complete and original. It even has, fender skirts, the extremely rare optional passenger seat headrest and reclining seat, factory A/C, cruise control, overhead console, power windows, seats and locks, and slide away steering wheel to make it easier to get in and out. The 390 4v engine sounds good and the car drives back and forth using an auxiliary gas tank.. It has not been in service for a number of years not surprisingly smoked some when we started it. The interior is great for its age and except for the carpet and headliner would be fine for a daily driver. The door panels are included. While they need work they are salvageable. The console lid also has some wear showing which would be fine for a driver. The 8 track supposedly works – tapes are included. The original owners manual which is with the car, indicates it was purchased as a Corporate executive car in New York. The car has been sitting a number of years and needs rust repair on various body panels, roof, the trunk pan and the floor pans. Brakes steering etc will have to be gone through before it can be put back on the road.The pictures do not exhaustively detail the rust but give examples of what it is like.The car could be parted out for a lot of money with these options but I would like to sell it as a whole. If it does not sell as a whole I will consider parting it out if people let me know what they are interested in and how much they would be willing to pay.Part of the dash was taken apart to use as a guide for the green T-bird in the background and will be put back correctly before the sale is completed. We can do as much or as little of the restoration work as the buyer wishes. We do it right and will guarantee our work. Arrangements can be made to hear it run or for an independent mechanic to go through the car.The picture of the Green T-bird at the end is one we are helping a friend with. It started out in similar condition to this one and is almost done. It still needs the vinyl roof and Landau bars.
