This is a rare 1959 retractable convertible T-Bird. Its’ heart is a 352 4v special with 300 hp. It has power windows, locks and seats. How rare is it? Ask yourself when you last saw one like it! Have you ever a 59 loaded with options like this one? Likely not! This old Bird is complete and original right down to the radio and console. The story we got with the car is it was parked in a barn in OHIO with a mere 51,000 miles. The title supports this. The barn fell on top of the car and in 2003 she it was sold to someone who planned on exporting it to New Zealand. It never made it there. Instead, she stayed in a storage lot in Winter Haven. The lot owner said when it came in, it looked nice. It was covered with a tarp. as time passed windows were broke and the top deteriorated. After many years the owner quit paying storage. The lot owner quit covering it up when the tarp blew off. Eventually the title was turned over to the storage lot. We found it resting on the ground with flat tires and the interior exposed to the elements. The bottom is the most rusty and while it could be repaired - this would be a great donor or parts car at the very least. We did not try to turn it over. There was evidence of some water it the oil and we bought it assuming the motor was seized and in need of a complete rebuild. The motor as you can see is intact and complete.The retractable mechanism is rusted but also intact - and appears to be complete.The Chrome and stainless is in very good condition and by itself is easily worth a couple thousand to someone who needs it. In order to respond to another question I looked at that again and saw some. I will be posting pictures of these areas. If anyone wants to withdraw there bid because of this mistake I have no problem with it. Many people asked about the retractable mechanism which I believe is complete.
