Vehicle Detail

I have here a 1956 Mercury Montclair coupe top of the line a the time. This is a drivable car with minor fixes. First, the engine does turn but the battery has to be charged constantly since it is no long good. Second, the vehicle was going to be used with airbags so the rear is very low help by 1 leaf spring per side and new gas shocks. The front however at the moment has the springs inside along with gas shocks put the plate that holds it in place must be welded on (which is not a big job to do). I am getting rid of this car after owning it since 2006 because I recently got married and I am moving to Illinois in 2 weeks so this car should fund our move and pay for rental deposits etc. When I bought this car, the paint on it which was a candy apple red and pearl white had been painted in 1995 and the engine was also rebuilt at the time. I would calculate that this car has not been driven more than 3000 miles since its rebuilt. The owner before me which was in San Diego had welded a cage for hydraulics in the back of the trunk onto the frame. To take advantage of this I figured I would install an airbag system which I did in 2008 but the air ride system needed to be upgraded so I sold it. I have not driven the car anywhere and has been parked inside a garage since I have had it. However, I had to take it out of the garage 3 months ago as our garage was being used for my mother's welding shop due to tough economical times. The engine is a V8 from a 1969 t-bird and the heads from a Lincoln from the early 70s as I looked up the serial numbers. It has a working automatic transmission. This car is converted to a 12v and all the lights are working except for the fuel gauge and speedometer however I do have a wiring harness that I never installed along with power locks and power windows. It has a demon 4 barrel carburetor with a chrome filter. It has an aluminum Summit 1 1/2 core radiator bought in 2007. I have an upgrades master cylinder but never replaced it. This car also has flame throwers installed from http://www.hotrodsetc.net/automotivekit.htm with instructions as you can see in one of the pictures. Please e-mail me for detailed pictures and I will try to send them asap. It has a clear California title but has been in non-op since 2007, yet it has not stopped me from taking it out every now and then. This weekend I will post a video about the car on youtube to give everyone a better picture of the history behind this car and its potentials. I will post the link on here as soon as I get it. In the meantime please e-mail me with questions or if you want to come see it the car is located in Pomona, CA. On May-22-11 at 21:43:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok so this weekend I got the engine started while feeding the fuel pump manually. I believe that the gas line might be clogged which is preventing the engine pump to bring up the fuel. The engine purrs like a kitten and there are no rattling sounds of any sort or over heating. I forgot to mention that I installed an electric fan with a toggle switch. The fan could be used with a thermo switch instead if you decide to go that route. This car does turn on but it is not drivable until the gas line is cleaned out and the rear is lifted since it is sitting on 1 leaf spring per side plus shocks. I recorded a video of the engine running today on my digital camera but the sounds is horrible. Nonetheless, here is the link to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He5ErkKybc8 On May-23-11 at 17:52:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Please visit my youtube page for videos of this car and a full description.
