I bought it 2.5 years ago from a dealer in SE Pennsylvania and drove it up here to Massachusetts. I believe it had one private party owner previously. It had 51K miles then, so I have added less than 10,000 miles in that time. It has NOT been driven here at any time December-March -- I kept it under a vehicle cover during the winters, but did start and run the engine every few days. So it has not seen any road salt. The underside of the car is particularly nice (see photo). Not a hint of rot anywhere. The tires may be the original ones - they have about 5/16" of tread or so remaining. The Sable and Taurus cars do have some common mechanical issues, and this car has had two. The torque converter lockup clutch failed on a trip last fall, and I had to have it replaced. The new unit is an "improved design" which should last for many miles. An added plus (I suppose) is that the automatic transmission of necessity was flushed out twice while doing this. So now the transmission and entire driveline shifts and operates flawlessly. I also had a problem with a leaking engine oil pan gasket. This is mostly an annoyance, but I did replace it myself a few weeks ago, and everything is tight now. I replaced the spark plugs last year at about 56K miles. The oil and filter have of course been changed regularly, as has the cabin air filter. All accessories operate. Cosmetically, the most noticeable flaw is a sort of small scuff in front of the right taillight (see photo). The metal is not dented or exposed. There is also a small dimple over the right taillight, that you have to be up close to notice. Again, no bare metal exposed. Finally, on the passenger side there are a couple of very shallow parking-lot indents that you have to look close to notice. I mention all these to be complete, but all in all the car looks very nice. The original floor mats are in place, and are quite clean. The trunk is clean as well; I don't think anyone used this vehicle as a truck! The underhood area is clean and neat, with minimal dirt or grease. Little or no corrosion on bolts or fittings. And in general, any questions about terms ask before the auction closes. I prefer that the successful bidder pick up the car in person, but will work with your shipper (there are many reputable ones) if you prefer. I will drive the car to any local pickup point to facilitate shipment. Note that the car must be paid for before I will release it for shipment. I am not a dealer, and will not add any prep or other fees. The successful bidder is responsible for taxes or paperwork in his or her own state, or for any temporary tags to get it home. Note that Massachusetts does NOT issue temporary tags but honors those of out-of-state owners, from their own states.
