Up for auction is a 1970 Triumph Spitfire 2 seater convertible, manufacture date of October 1970, by British Leyland Motor Corp. Paint #54, Trim 13, Comm. #FDU 90656. Car has a CLEAN PA TITLE. Frame on car looks nice and solid. Body of car is fair. The front bonnet or hood is in good condition, with very little rust if any. Floorboards should be replaced--very weak & rusty. Rockers and quarters also have rust. Tires hold air, but in poor condition. Trunk lid has some rust through at bottom lip but otherwise not too bad. Trunk floor bad where it meets quarters and rear valance is rusty. Gas tank has at least two holes and is not currently connected. Top is excellent for older used top, but has at least one small rip over passenger seat. Seats are rough. Clutch pedal has no resistance. Brakes do not work (but are not locked up), and the car rolls easily. Mechanical condition is really unknown because car has been stored at least 10 years. Previous owner said engine was rebuilt sometime before car was taken off the road and only has about 1600 miles on it. Engine does turn by hand. I wanted to try to start the engine, but never got the time. Overall interior is rough. Passenger side of dash appears missing. Glass is intact--no cracks that I can see, but front windshield is starting to cloud at the bottom. Doors appear good--not showing rust that I can see. Proper bumpers are missing. Car appears to have a multitude of horns. Car has some sort of after-market aluminum wheels that look to be in good shape. I believe the original color was yellow (as can be seen under the hood). What you see is is what you get! Miscellaneous parts and manuals are included and can be seen in photo. Car has great potential for restoration. Car can be inspected at my location.
