2003 Volkswagen Jetta GL 2.0 engine 4 speed automatic vin# 3VWRK69M33M071623 132,000 miles. The timing belt broke, and this car probably has engine damage. A mechanic told me that we need a new engine, however we are not sure what the extent of the damage is. Whether the damage is the cylinder heads, valves, or pistons, we cannot say. When the timing belt broke, we towed the vehicle to the nearest mechanic, who gave us the diagnosis. We would have liked to have a second opinion, however, it was not cost effective to tow this car to different mechanics. Therefore, I strongly suggest that any buyer inspect the vehicle him/herself before bidding. The good stuff: -2 owner vehicle -regular maintenance -a/c, cd player, power window and locks -Inspected until October 2011 -new tires about 4 months ago -new battery about 6 months ago -daily driver -clean PA title The bad stuff: -timing belt broken/damage -has been sitting for about 6 weeks -flat rear right tire (from sitting for 6 weeks) -battery is dead (from sitting for 6 weeks) -damage to driver side mirror...see pics -interior needs cleaned/detailed -a few minor engine and accessory components are not completely bolted back together The Fine Print: -$200 deposit required within 48 hours of auction ending -this car must be TOWED off the location within 7 days of auction ending, or seller forfeits all monies paid.
