1980 GL1100 Goldwing Custom Naked Motorcycle So COOL!! Up for your riding pleasure is my Goldwing. First off there are a bunch of photos that are expandable if you click here. Please use your back button to return. This Wing starts, runs, drives and stops perfectly. The motor was rebuilt at approx 60,000 miles. There are no mechanical or, electrical issues on the bike. Every single inch of this bike has been rebuilt or replaced. Two items that should be noted: I never connected the neutral safety switch (no neutral light), and the speedo gear is from an earlier year bike so the speedo is 10 miles per hour off. I will start from the front of the bike and go over all of the goodies and extras on the bike. Front Forks: - Rebuilt with progressive rate springs - Rebuilt front calipers with new pads. - Rebuilt triple tree with new bearings and seals. - Replaced front fender with chrome from GL1000. - Replaced tach and speedo cables. - Rebuilt front master cylinder and replaced tub assembly (The first aftermarket cap did not fit right and caused a leak that ate the paint off of the cylinder and the tank cover as you see in the pics.). - Replaced the headlight bulb and installed all new lights in the dash and gauges. - Added new headlight bucket, chrome fork ears, chrome fork tops, chrome brake and clutch handles with finger grooves, chrome handlebar clamp, chrome Seiko clock, chrome master cap, cruise control, chrome custom mirrors, Italian hand grips, chrome turnsignals from GL1000, new ignition switch, leather tool bag, chrome gauge backs, chrome gauge rings, etc.. Motor and mid area. - Motor rebuilt around 60,000 miles. Only needed minor adjustments and all new gaskets. - Installed NGK Irredium plusg and NGK wire ends. - Replaced water pump, neutral safety switch, front motor housing, starter, radiator hoses, thermostat, and fan switch. - Rebuilt rear master cylinder, replaced stock battery with very high end battery in pics. Replaced start relay with very heavy duty aftermarket that is better then OEM. NOT the junk ones offered on ebay. - Completely re-wired bike and removed all of the molex connectors that generally cause failure on these bikes. - Added chrome belt covers with gaskets, chrome valve covers with gaskets, custom chrome fuel pump cover, chrome manifolds, chrome linkage covers, chrome radiator wings, chrome radiator guard, chrome engine mounts, chrome horns, and more. Rear: - Rebuit rear end and rear caliper with new pads. - Added progressive rate rear springs. - Added Corbin custom seat with drivers backrest (could use recovered). The backrest NOT the seat. - Added custom sissy bar and rear mudflap. - Added Harley tailpipes to the factory headers. Done very well by a custom shop and hung in factory spots. Tires: - May have 2000 miles on the tires. Purchased new. Frame: - Removed any rust (minor spots! nothing deep!) and treated with products to turn rust to paint and painted frame. - Added chrome kickstand, front and rear Aspencade foot pegs, rear signals from GL1000, leather saddle bags, oversized front chrome crash bar with light tabs. Body: - You will notice the damage to the paint on the tank. This came from the leaking master cylinder. - I am including a brand new tank cover that a dealer had sitting on a shelf in a box since 1980! I have started sanding the pinstrips and preparing the unassembled tank for paint. I am sure that I am forgetting things but, rest assured, this is not your average Goldwing.
