1974 Triumph Trophy

This is an origional bike with 5,580 origional miles, that I bought from the 83 year old owner who bought it new in Cleveland,Ohio, in 1974. I have the origional papers and documentation. I have owned 3 of these TR5T Triumphs over the years and this is by far the best one and I fully intended to keep it in my collection. However, 2 weeks after I bought it, I found a bike I have wanted for years, a Norton International, so the Trophy has to go to help pay for the Norton. (see the last picture which is of the Norton, And not for sale, and you will understand why I wanted this Norton so bad.) I have sold a nice Honda GB500 and a 2001 Bonneville so far, with this Triumph and a Moto Guzzi Mille and Norton Electra are remaining to be sold. I still have a lot of very nice old bikes that I am keeping until I get old, since I am only 76. This Bike is totally origional, and in exceptional condition for its age. It is not perfect since it was ridden and lived in Ohio and Florida, and not in a show room or museum and has some slight pitting on the headlight,rear fender and right shock spring. It cranks easily and idles like a dream. It runs smoothly through the gears and is an excellant runner. The wheel rim chrome is generally excellant except for a couple of spots. The tank finish almost looks new with no real dents. The side covers were repainted and the decals replaced over the years. The instruments work and the bike is in good working order. It has the origional exhaust system in very good condition. It has all of the origional air cleaning system, including the origional rubber connecting hose and clamps. You may recognize this bike and this Ad, as it was listed 3 weeks ago and within a few hours of its listing, a resident of Italy excercised the Buy IT Now option for $4,500.00. What ensued was a nightmare. The purchaser wanted a guarantee the motor was perfect before paying for it. I cannot guarantee any mechanical thing that is 39 years old. Ebay finally freed me to sell it again for non payment. I must therefore insist that non residents of the USA contact me before bidding so that we can discuss method of payment, shipping arrangments and the obligations of a buyer under ebay rules. I apologize for this as I have sold parts all over Europe over the years with no hitches, but this burning will take a while to get over. A viewer asked specific questions about the wheel rims and I did a close inspection in order to answer his questions. I found the front to be pretty much as I described and I have added a picture to show a few very small pits in one area, The dark place is a shadow only. I missed the boat on the rear and did not see the two inch place where the chrome has worn through. I do not see how I missed it but I did, and grateful to have a chance to correct this before auction ends. I have reduced the prices for opening bid and Buy it Now by $300. to allow a rechroming or replacement if buyer is going to show the bike.
