1959 Cadillac Series 62, 6 window sedan. I bought the car about ten years ago. I was told the car was stored for some time in central California and was reregistered in the 80’s, thus the blue plates. I have the registration slip from 83 which is from Hanford CA. The odometer reads 7,000 which I was told is 107,000 which seems to be plausible given the condition of the car. I have put 2,000 miles on it the last ten years. Cosmetically it is exactly as when I bought it. It has some rust and dings and scratches as you can see in the pictures. I believe it’s been repainted the original white once. It could use a paint job, but I have enjoyed driving it, and always get people admiring the car. Several friends have used it for their weddings, and it has been used in photo shoots for a clothing line and a jewelry line. The interior is in good shape, also as is when I bought it. The dash paint, door panels, and vinyl parts of the seats appear original, only the driver side arm rest is significantly damaged where your elbow sits. It appears to have newer seat cloth, carpet, dashpad, and headliner. The flat window glass has a couple cracks and has some discoloring. When I first got the car I had my mechanic drive the car for a couple months. He worked on many things, a lot of little things I can’t remember. He spent many hours making it a very reliable driver. He replaced much of the brakes. He replaced the entire exhaust system. Cleaned and painted the engine compartment/valve covers. Rebuilt the radiator with four rows. Replaced the gas tank sending unit. Tuned it up, and fixed most of the engine and transmission leaks. Got all the power windows and interior lights working properly. Got the defroster to work on the driver side, and the heater to work on the passenger side, which has worked out well as my wife is the one who gets cold. It does not have air conditioning. Most everything on the car works. It has three retrofit lap belts in the back seat. The tires are period correct Goodyear with 2,000 miles on them. The spare tire is a very old Sears tire. I would like to keep the car, but just don’t have room, and don’t drive it enough to make sense keeping it. The car is sold as is with no warranty.
